I need energy...any good solutions?

I am tapering off Methadone and I am dealing with lack of sleep, and I am so sluggish, I know this is normal but I also know everyone here is so good with helping me, I decided to ask...I read the health pages by Savvas and they were so good just looking for a little personal experience...

Hopefully sublingual B-12/folic acid tablets are on your list because man o man did they ever save me today. I've never had to does myself every hour, but it's water soluable so no fear of Od-ing.

Highly recc. B-12 sublinguals. And if your stomach is torn up from withdrawal you can try liquid vitamnis/minerals to help absorption.

Alos know, it's gonna feel completely normal and then horribly bad with the flip of a coin. So you just kinda relax into the pain and that helps.

My very best and lots of healing!

You are doing a great thing BTW!

if you are not sleeping good your sluggishness is going to be that much worse. Melatonin will help you sleep, its a natural sleep aid. our brains stop producing as much melatonin when we use opiates. take it at night and stay in bed in a dark room. bright light stops the production of the melatonin ................ if you are anxious at night try some kava, you can usually find it in tea form, really helps relax you at night. you do need amino acids and omega fatty acids. ive been taking lots of supplements one of which is ginkgo biloba, it helps me with energy and i get out and walk now which helps sooooooooooo much. there are some teas also at the healh food stores that can help you with energy, the Yogi teas are the best. good luck. oh yea drink more water, your body needs to start producing more electrolights. christina

I jumped off of 25 mgs of methodone so I struggled with that 'heavy lethargic' feeling for about 6 weeks, but you are tapering so it shouldn't be that bad for you.I can honestly tell you the only thing that worked really well for me was the exercise.Even just straightening up the house or a 15 minute walk to the corner store made me feel so much better.I know it's hard to get yourself going but it is so worth it considering the relief you will feel once you finally do it.Hang in there it gets so much better.I'm praying for you. Peace.

After i quit hydros..work full time and have always been a gym nut...i looked seriously into the supps....i was taking them but not like i shoulda been...i researched and knew i needed to increase my dopamine..it was a month clean and i was dragging bad....tyrosine, dlpa, methionone were the aminos that helped with dopamine....i goodled herbs/supps to increase dopamine and tried several...yohimbee bark, mucuna purriens, ...started making some headway and also bought a good B complex   BIG 50 by GNC.....a month ago i started wellbutrin for nicotine cessation and it is also a dopamine increaser and has helped tremendously...sleep issues tho but i am willing to deal with it and am at a very low dose right now...hope this helped...i know how u feel and the fatigue and lack of motivation was very hard for me...my doctor also prescribed Provigil which helps dopamine and it was a life saver for me...good luck

Its going to take time but you have to heal your body. You can do that by exercising and eating right. The amino acids and viamins will help as well. The exercise will make you sleep better too.
