cant quit

I"ve quit opiates both tapering and ct and a few other things over the years. I"m tapering,ct,tapering ,ct right now but I WILL end this so why cant I quit smoking (cigs) has anyone been successful quiting ? how ? I was going to apologize cause cigs didnt seem as important as drugs but then I thought that they can/will KILL me ,ty
