Hi Avis,
I hope everything goes well next week. It does sound like an ulcer.
I'll definitely keep you in my thoughts. Keep us updated, you know how we all worry!
Melissa
Since I'm new here, I don't know your situation like many here may who have been following closely. I just want to throw something out there that has affected two people I know in th past year- and was very very hard to figure out!
Bloody stools, horrible stomach pains, cramping, gas, fatigue, fever- you name it, they had it. Both went through all the same testing you are suffering (yuck- I don't envy you- but at least you are going through the trouble to get to the bottom of it, which is a sign of strength and caring about yourself).
In the end, it was some sort of parasite/bacteria thing, like the kind you hear about people picking up when traveling to exotic places. For one of my friends, he does travel ALL the time- and suffered with this for 2 years before they discovered it via some sort of "breath test" thing- where you drink some stuff at various intervals, then blow in a tube. The parasites did not show up in the stool. It requires a special medication to get rid of it- like and antibiotic but not.
My other girlfriend, does not travel at all, but had something like this. There was nothing noticeable in her blood work except en elevated white cell count- with a high concentration of a specific type of white blood cells that is very odd. She was given a sulfa-based antibiotic, and the dead eggs of this showed up in her stool. So, you know... even in America where we supposedly don't have these issues..........
Perhaps irrelevant to your situation, but I wanted to throw these two examples out there in case you get to the end of your rope, and they can't find a single thing wrong with you! Both of my friends went through this, and they became very frustrated and miserable- hoping with each passing test that even if it was something HORRIBLE, at least it would be "something".
If you find this to be your situation in the coming days/weeks, maybe throw this out there to your doctors- and ask that they check you for these things "just because". Why not? They will have done everything else they can to you by this time. :)
Good Luck, and God Bless..
Poked, prodded, pricked and!!! Do I KNOW you?? Good luck. I do not envy you on the colonoscopy!. The prepping is just too much fun!
Thanks for keeping us updated...it does sound suspicious for an ulcer...take care of yourself and i guess we'll see you on here!!!! :)
I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers!!! ~hugs~
Thanks for letting us know whats happening. You're in our prayers.
i think it is an ulcer as well , they just did a CBC it was fine so i can stay home .Tuesday they will do a colonoscopy and Thursday they will do a upper GI hopfully we will have an answer before the end of the week.
You do seem like a very strong person...and you have a great attitude and a positive outlook! Those are some very important traits for anyone having to endure what you are right now.
You have many prayers being said on your behalf and lots of positive energy coming your way. Stay strong and keep posting. Most imposrtantly, remain positive...visualize the outcome you desire and try to 'feel' the emotion that will create.
Good thing is...to get all this resolved just in time to be feeling excellent for spring!
I could be wrong but this sounds like it could be an ulcer....
wish you the best....... i hope this isnt serious....
well...u know that is a common thing to be worried about I would think! LOL I had a biopsy in November and was ready to write my will out.....all turned out well...scary tho....the sooner you can get some answers the better you will feel.....a gall stone doe not really cause bloody stools...can you tell me more?
i am not worried at the moment about my addiction ,right now i am worried about the fact that they keep changing there mind about what they think is wrong and now i have very bloody stool ,,,,,,,,TMI but that is why i am freaked out

Do you have an NA book? The reading can be a good reminder to me and re-read at times...just thinking of something to help you stay strong
I sure hope you can get well soon. Peace be with you
