is morephine an opiate?

somebody please help me i have been taking pain pills off and on for past 10 years this last stretch was 2 years 15 pills a day perks and norcos my dr gave me morephine and it didnt get me there so i hated it anyways 7 days ago i stopped taking the pills perks an norcs but was scared of the withdrawls so i took 2 60 mg morephine a day like perscribed then got to 1 a day but today tried to take none and was sick as **** so gave in an took 3 norcos i didnt get high and really felt sad but my question is is morephine an opiate cus i heard it wasnt and just wanna stop this addiction so bad but not by getting hooked to sumthin else

Do not listen to anything else that whomever told you morphine wasnt an opiate might have to say.  Of course its an opiate.  Morpheus - God of Sleep - - - Morphine - makes you nod/sleep.................get the connection?

You were doing 15 percs/hydro's a day for 2 years..... and you quit 7 days ago (except for 120mg of morphine a day) but wonder why you have withdrawal symptoms?   I doubt that morphine is the answer for you.  I would suggest that you do an extensive read on medhelp's Health Pages and with key word searches via the sites search engine......  You need to learn a lot rather quickly here it seems....  There is a lot of knowledge in the Health Pages.......  But keep posting with questions and for information - - that might be faster for you...

Yes it is opiate  You can be clean and sober its your chioce you can either go CT or taper off them.you can do it !!!

morphine is definitely an opiate...not a big DOC for many as the high is not as desirable for most as other narcs unless used IV//heroin is a street form of morphine...what can u do differently this time around so u can stay clean?  sounds like u want this badly..have u tried any type of aftercare?

you kno it was truely a set back to find out morephine was in deed a opiate i really did not no, anyways i do want this really bad but it is indeed very hard i have a 9 year old daughter and have just turned 30 i wanna be able to wake up and not think of pills for just 1 day sum people say its all in my head sickness/withdrawls wat do you think is it possible to make my brain 4 get about pills?

You are just going to have to go through the withdrawals. Once you are clean for awhile the thought of pills become less and less. You could taper down with the norcos since they are the weakest ones you have. Just drop your dose every 3 to 5 days. Break them in half so you are only taking 5mg instead of 10mg. You have to have a lot of willpower to taper because you have to stick to the taper plan. If tapering won't work, just go cold turkey. Either way you will feel some of the withdrawals. If tapering, they won't be as bad but it does kind of drag them out. Once you get some clean time you will see how you won't think about the pills as much and then one day not at all. Never let your guard down though. Just stay strong and let us know what your plan of attack is! Best of luck!

i advise not to break the morphine pills in half--what kind of morphine are they? if they are time released (which many morphine preparations are), you cant break them- it could release all the medicne at once and cause respiratory failure and death

you seemed to really have sum kind words to people on here and that shows me u get this addiction i have, any how i read about sum tyrosine and b 6 how fast does that kick in 2 the brain and wat does it do?
