How long does it take for the withdrawal symptions to end?

I know the craving and addiction part continues for a lifetime and lessens each day but this is day 3 of no Norcos and I wonder how long it takes? I have been taking Norcos for 8 years after chronic back problems & surgery..Geesh - what an addiction. The pain is the same with or without the Norcos and I realize it just helps me cope with my own character defects!! I know I can beat this..but how long!!!???

Thanks for your support..Bustmyself

I was on hydro & tramadol for 4 years for back pain, I'm on day 11 clean.  The first few days are the worst, but it DOES get better a little each day.  I couldn't or didn't want to eat until day 5, and the lack of calories made it harder, I got a bunch of protein drinks like Boost or the generic ones if i found them. and it helped me get myself back a bit.  I still have insomnia some nights, but that's it. Just keep telling yourself tomorrow will be better, because it will, I promise you, each day is easier.  you are so close to freedom, keep it up.  and check back here every day, there are a lot of wonderful encouraging people, it sure helped me

Hello, Sonrissa answered your question perfectly I just wanted to encourage you. Day 3 and 4 was the toughest for me but by day 7 I knew I was going to beat it and you can too. It will be so worth it. Congrats to you!

Hi Bust, everyone is different, but typically physical withdrawal symptoms last about a good week! The worst of it, at least for me, was days 3-5! I started noticing improvement in the evening of Day 5! It sounds like you are getting into the thick of it! Lack of sleep and fatigue will take longer to ease!  Are you taking anything for your symptoms?

Take care, and keep posting with any questions or for support! You can do this!
