Hello all…I’m on my 25th day clean from handfuls of vicodin es. I just feel so sluggish and tired. I’ve gotten clean before…I have the mental part under control for now. But the energy to do things….ugh its tough!

keeping busy is usually a good way to deal with lots of problems.
maybe you can make a long list of things to do and when you're not feeling good just pick something off the list and do it, even if you don't feel like it. you might start to enjoy it once you get into it.
okay, maybe that's dumb, i dunno, but it's worth trying

Hey all!! Thanks for all of your support. Alot of me being clean has to do with Medhelp! lol Im on my mothers softball team. I had practice tonight. Being that its been nice out Ive been out on the boat a few times. So I'm active...its just that sometimes...Im just like do I really have to do anything today at all?!? lol my guess is everyone does right?? lol i know these things dont happen over night...hell it took me years to do what i did to myself. i know the reward is well worth it...the freedom i feel even on my worst day is all worth it. im glad to be clean. havent had any after care im afraid of a meeting not sure why....

Hey Jersery girl......   you are 25 days clean,  keep celebrating!!!  And focus on your end goal of a healthy and happy life,  and being the greatest aunt in the world!!  :)

I know it is the mom in me,  but you also know it is out of concern for you, tht  I have to ask you again about your aftercare.....    Everyone  above has given you some really good advise on how to ease back into the energy you need.  I still hope you are checking into some AA/NA meetings, to have some classes and live interaction with other addicts that feel exactly as you do, can help in keeping your focus on all the reasons you are fighting for sobriety.  And sometimes it can give you the added boost to get out of the house to seek that dialog and companionship from others that want help and understanding.  You have a lot to share,  you are a good and loving soul.......  pass that around to others, I know you will find it rewarding.  And you need to accept that support for yourself as well.

Stay strong sweetheart!!  You have a wonderful family to support you, and such dedication.  I am very proud of you.   Take a shower,  go for a walk,  or dance to your favorite songs......  and then maybe hit a meeting :)

Talk to you soon.  My best to you always!!  Jeanette

Hi...great that you have the mental part under control because for most, that is their greatest challenge.  For energy, I mean where you're not melting into the couch, Starbucks Expresso shots during the day and Tylenol PM at night.  Your energy is there but your body is going through some big changes right now...I started exercising the first week free from meds and found the energy was there but I had to push to get it.  The lack of energy lasted for about 3-4 months.

Read the PAWS info and the Amino Protocols...the info will help you during your recovery.

Congrats on your clean time...25 days is great!

This is depressing for you. I do know that every time someone goes through the cycle the slower and harder recovery can be. Start excercising slowly and build up, endorphins well pep you up and it goods to just get the body juices flowing. That can be hard to do, but it could help a lot. I believe that it is always underetimated the timeit actually takes to recover. You will heat a week or so but it does take longer, much longer sometimes. This is likley to be normal. Focus on getting through this without relapse.
