How do I kick these withdrawls from opiate abuse?

Hi guys in Britt im 22 years old and have been fighting an addiction for a little over four years now to roxies 30 mg. I am on day three of withdrawl and im deff. feeling it. I cannot explain how horrible it is to get up every morning for work while going through these trials. I also keep my addiction a secret but my family is starting to put the pieces together as well as my straight edge girlfriend whom I never want to loose. I need some advice on how to kick these withdrawls into gear with little to no notice from the people around me. I have recently moved cities to get away from them but always as an addict they will find you. Need some prayers and love it's extremely difficult when you have no one on your side to help push you because your too scared to come out and admit you have a problem to loved ones. With that being said your comments will be a great help on my journey to sobriety. Thanks guys , Britt.

Hang in there it gets easier after day 3, I'm at day 9 and feel much better than I did a week ago, just think how much better you're life will be without them, try to stay busy so you don't focus on it so much, everyday that goes by you will feel better. Stay strong

Thanks guys I really do appreciate all the support im getting from you all! I have more motivation now that I did yesterday but not as much as I will tomorrow! I know what I need in my life to be successful and happy and this drug life is not for me. Biggest mistake I have ever made was the intake of a prescription pill. Since I cannnot attend N.A meetings you guys are the closest thing I habe to a support group! Thank you all for being my backbone through the weakest time of my life XOXO Britt.

Hang in there Brit, it gets easier and easier.  Your age will allow you to get thru much faster, I know it doesn't seem that way but once these few days are over, you will def bounce back and get to enjoying life.  Take one hour at a time if you need to, every hour that passes makes you closer to having control over your life again. No more hiding, making excuses, or wondering if you'll run out. Stay strong, take care. Chad

YoU should be coming out of the worst of it now.

Hang tight and do what you have to do to get through the next couple days.

You can do this.

Hi Brit, Your on Day 3 and the worst of it ios almost over! Usually the worst of it lasts about 5 days. So just keep pushing forward. I would definitely not recomend subs for you at this point. Your half way through the gates of hell so to speak.

Check out the Thomas Recipe. It has GREAT advice on what to get to help with the different symptoms you may be experiencing. Keep yourself hydrated and noursished. If you dont feel like eating, then get ensure or boost. Also On day 3 for me I staarted walking every day! At first it was 15-20 minutes at a time and by day 10 i was running/walking everyday! It helped with my energy and fatigue SO much! I definitely recomend keeping yourself busy.

You said your girlfriend is straight laced but do you guys have a good relationship? Do you not think she would be supportive and want to help you? You may be surprised.

keep posting and stay strong! Were here for you

Hi there, my name is Deana and you have nothing to be ashamed of. It takes courage to ask for help and it is difficult to admit to family that you have let them down. I to was addicted to Roxys and Opana's and was so ashamed of it. I have been clean for 1 year today. I got on Suboxone and saw a addiction pyschiatrist every month and This is the longest time Ive ever had clean. Im 42 yrs old and let me tell you...time goes by so fast..you are doing the right thing in stopping this addiction now. I know the w/d's suck, but there is no real way to avoid them unless you are on Sub's. However, even with Sub's you have some what w/d's also. Not as bad, but not severe flu like symptoms..... If you are not ready to tell anyone about the problem then tell them you have the flu....but I hope you find a doctor cuz it helps to have some medical guidance. I wish you luck and keep fighting it is so worth it!
