Most of your symptoms indicate a possible problem with your stomach lining but the diarreaha clinched it for me with the liver. A liver panel can be ordered by your doctor and it is a quick blood test.
One of my doctors had me on Vicodin ES for several months and I was taking it as directed. During a regular set of bloodwork ordered by my Primary we found out that those pills were doing damage to my liver as my ALT and AST Enzymes became elevated. This meant that liver cells were being damaged by the Tylenol. I want to include that I was not drinking alcohol while taking this medication either. That would make it worse.
I have been switched to pain medication that has no Tylenol for long term pain and Percocet that has a small amount of Tylenol in it for breakthrough pain.
After about a month my liver returned to normal. I did take Milk Thistle and Danelion Root to help it along though. I swear by the stuff. I still take it everyday now as it helps detoxify everything form your liver.
go back to the doctor or the er and ask for a liver function like others have said, its a simple test that shows more that just problems with your liver, it will show all metabolic problems, if your family doctor will not do this for you ask for a referal to a gi.,
i hope you feel better soon!
You need to do something quickly. If you can't go cold turkey I would check into Suboxone. It could save your life.
that is alot of pills. my tummy was thrashed when i was taking pills. i think it's mostly from the acetaminophen. i threw up alot, sometimes to the point of dehydration and ended up getting I.V. fluids. they couldn't find anything wrong with me either. i also neglected to mention the pills. i haven't had any tummy trouble since i quit taking the pills. i never took that many on a regular basis. probably would have if i had enough. glad that's over. i was down to 92 pounds at the height of my most recent active addiction. i am almost 115 lbs now and i feel so much better. have you tried the thomas recipe? (bottom right of this page) you still suffer, but not like straight cold turkey. keep posting and good luck. sway
I was up to that many a day. Very lucky I didn't do permanent damage to myself. You are very right - now is the time. Best to be open and honest with your doctor. Have him or her test your liver function ASAP and maybe help with a taper plan. Hydro typically has acetamenophen in it, which in doses this large can be VERY toxic to the liver. Im not too smart on taper plans - I could never taper anything.. but hopefully someone will be along soon to help.. Its really important you quit this now. You have come to the right place for support - but your going to have to reallly be strong and quit this deadly habit. It can be done.. withdrawal is no fun, but neither is slowly killing yourself. If you can make it to day 2- then all you have is a few more days and you will start feeling better.. usually 5-6 days.. I know you can do this.. I wish you the best of luck and send lots of prayers.
If you have been taking that much Tylenol everyday for years, over 9 grams, you may have done irrevesable damage to your liver. You need to tell your doctor what you have been doing.
