off Norco for over two weeks

it has been at least 14 days, or more, lost track stopped counting, however I still feeling trembling inside an anxiety is so high. Is this to be expected? I am gettng worried that I am never going to feel better. Is this PAWS? Was reading health pages re PAWs said it cold take a year or much more to feel normal. The article was mostly talking about Methadone, which being an opiate does this alsp apply to Norco WD's. I am getting weary and the night's are the worse I keep telling my husband to stop snapping at me for every little thing that it makes me feel worse, but he just doesn't listen. i got really angry with him for not even trying to learn aout what I waas going through. I told him he could read a book about it if the computor was to difficult for him. Wll he's still totally blank and has not done anything
to learn. I don't want to take the Norco not craving it at least not mentally. Ny body feels like a little tree shaking in the wind. I have to apply for a job asap, but I feel so bad. Is this normal and will it go away soon? I am so afraid the drug may have ruined my body and mind forever.

It can take up to 90 days for most to feel all of the nrg and return to a pre-using mind-set again....for me it got better and better but would have slumps and gonna estimate it was 2 months or more til i felt fairly normal mosta the time again...be sure u have aftercare in ur plan to stay clean.it can make or break u!
Often we need to remeber why we abused...if we were feeling hunky dory we would possibly not have started using narcotics in the first place,,,these things will still be there even tho we stopped the pills...they do not go away just cos we quit the pills..often there is a reason a person becomes an addict..deep down..triggers that need to be worked on...
hang tight..this only gets better!  (:

Hi and welcome to the forum. I agree with Tramhater. Two weeks is not enough time at all. You have made it through the physical wd now comes the mental. This is tough and IMO why so many of us relapse. We get tired of it taking so long and think we can use for a day just to feel normal. Don't do this. For me the first month was always pretty tough. The second month I started to have better days...mornings were the hardest and by my third month I began to feel better more consistently. I had my doc. put me on an antidepressant for the anxiety and it really helped. Your going to have good days and bad days. Like we usually call it...an emotional rollar coaster. You will not feel bad for a year but it can take that long to get our brains back to "normal" NA is a good option if you want to stay clean. I see an addiction counselor, Go to NA 5 days a week and have a great sponcer. I have been on here for over 2 years and have not been able to stay clean any other way. Good luck to you and don't give up. Fight with all you have. It is worth it. Congratulations on your 2 weeks. That's awesome. Hang onto that clean date...Just don't pick up ne matter what. God bless, Corey

Hi there!  Welcome!

No, your mind and body are not ruined forever.  They have the amazing ability to bounce back, but it takes time.  I would say that feeling this way for a year is drastic for norco WDs.  You may not feel "like yourself" for a year, but you won't shake and have that horrible anxiety for that long.  (In my opinion)  Many of us (ME!) don't really know what "feeling like ourselves" feels like.  We did drugs for long enough that we don't know what our real selves are.  Make sense?  At least that is the case with me.  I took pills on and off for about 15 years, mostly on, and it is a hard habit to break even after the initial WD is over.  That is what you are going through now.  14 days isn't really that long in terms of feeling much better.  Give yourself time and have patience.  I know that is hard!  But cut yourself some slack, ok?

You are doing great.  Congrats on 14 days!!!! That is wonderful and quite an achievement!  When you are feeling better, you can find a lot of support in NA meetings.  Check one out.  There are some very kind and helpful people there!

Good luck!!
