numbness in fingertips from cocaine?

This seemed like the most relevant forum to post this in. So, the other day I learned the hard way that drugs are actually bad and that I shouldn't do them.

I took too much cocaine, it was bad, I hyperventilated for a while. 3 days later, I feel fine except that a small part of 2 of my fingertips are numb (about 1/4 square centimeter on the side of the tips of my right index and middle fingers).

Well for what it's worth, it's gotten a little bit better, but 1 week later, there is still some numbness in the same area. So I don't know, maybe something else?

Welcome to the forum. As an avid cocaine user in the past I experienced this time and time again. If i used a larger amount which was almost always the end of my fingers and toes would be numb for a day or 2, sometimes more. Cocaine restricts the blood vessels and i think that is what causes this to happen, not the cocaine touching skin. I imagine this will go away soon, but if your that worried you can see a dr. Please stay off coke, it almost killed me, all drugs are bad.

When you start hyperventalating and getting this numbness, your in a lot more danger than you might think during the usage time, that is when overdose and heart attacks can take place. It's 3 days later, so I think all will be fine, but maybe not next time, if you use. Best of luck and stick around, this is a great support group:)

More details:

I think that they might have become numb when I got cocaine on them, but I'm not sure. The parts of the fingertips that are numb are the parts that I used to tap my mousepad on my laptop at the same time. Maybe it ground the cocaine into the skin a bit more?

I have never heard of this happening before, and I got way more cocaine on my other fingers and they're fine now.

The parts that are numb seemed a bit bruised (a little red and a little white in the middle on one) but they are going back to normal, except without feeling.

Is this a reasonable explanation or no? And yes, obviously I'm not going to do that again. Fortunately it's just a small part of skin, albeit in an important part.
