my experience is that you don't hear too much about morphine because its harder to optain you know getting th doctors to give you morpihine doesn't happent to too many, but they love to push hydros, percs and oxys... any how.....coming off of any opiate is hard on the human body which morphine is an opiate. like goingtomakeit said....... you should google some info "C"
my cousin, who has a severe neurological degenerative disease similar to MS has MUCH pain....was initially on vics....eventually his neurologist weaned him OFF the vics and ON to morphine....which he's currently taking and has been for awhile....morphine is much more regulated though....can never be called in to a pharmarcy....he has to go through this whole regime every month just to get his pills....i took one ONCE when i ran out of my lortabs at the time....he gave me one to see if it would help my headache....i broke it in half (at his suggestion).....it gave me a horrendous headache!!! so i've never touched another since....unfortunately, that's all i know about morphine....oh, and the half life IS longer for morphine than for vics, lortabs, etc....that's why his doctor changed him to that medication....he needed something longer lasting
Thank you. Just was trying to find out how detoxing would go in relation to the other DOCs.

I was on morphine, at one time I was addicted to Heroin they are almost one in the same to ct off. I would use the percs as a taper then taper off the percs..
I was had been using morphine and detoxed last month relapsed not on morphine but the like as the drs prescribe me morphine and I find the wds to be the same. The effects to me are a bit different between morphine and percodan, vicadin and tyhe like but like already said they are similiar. Throwing up, pains in joints and bones shaky shaky hands RLS depression shall I go. Heck it is bad just like any of the drugs mentioned. Mike
I dont know about the half life of it but I saw previously mentioned it is longer that *****, I have been on Morphine since being changed over from oxycontin 11 months ago. So I have not had years and years of experiece with Morphine just 1. Like I said though I find them equally as hard to kick as the rest of the pain killers I think it all depends on how long how much you use.
Morphine is kin to codeine...it is not a frequently abused drug as it is hard to get and for most...not a pleasant buzz...wd would also depend on if it is extended release and what not...but it is not too much different from what i have heard from a friend who withdrew from it...dose, time used and type all play a part...most people who r hooked on morphine have legitimate pain issues
Thank you.
Much, much appreciated.

Sorry that was a quote from the shake man from Romeo and Juliet
I'm with Kimmieb. It gives me real bad headaches too. I could have gotten them, and did at one time, but had migraine side effect.
those that are on Morphine do you get headaches and problems with temperture control I have 5 herniated dics recently broke 3 bones and have severe rhem arthritis pain control is something I have had to deal with for over 20 years I have tried to live without pain meds and have been unable to the pain gets so bad I cannot function. With the meds I can function have a life etc. Although like all the comments I have read its not without side effects or those around you thinking less of you because you take pain meds or just how do you deal with the side effects
