Doctors have to be specially licensed to prescribe suboxone and not all are. You can find a list of doctors in your area at suboxone.com or if you do a general search online. Depending on what type of suboxone program you get into will determine what the requirements are for you. With some doctors you are required to do nothing, with others NA meetings, counseling and support groups are required. As stated above - suboxone is not a cure. Knowledge of this medication in the medical community is low, and many doctors prescribe suboxone with no background in addiction whatsoever. I can tell you from firsthand experience that knowing as much as you can about this med before you start will help you greatly in the long run. There's a wealth of great info on this website as well, so please take advantage. You can use the suboxone to get you into recovery but recovery is not just taking suboxone. Good luck to you!
many drs make u wait up to 24 hours to take the sub....so u will experience wds before u get it...it is not a cure all tho...it is another narcotic/a strong narcotic/that can also be abused..if used along with meetings and support/plus a true desire to be done..it can help people like a tool only as avisg has always said...it is not a miracle drug...only another narcotic that is a bit safer than the others..and a bit more dangerous in a way as well..read the health pages and google the drug so u r informed before u start the drug...and be safe
