I know of some people who have had that issue when using hydrocodone. I don't know what causes it though.
i know my friends who used more than they were supposed to said they sweat alot i only did when i quit using and it was during the 1st few days all better now
some people have excess sweating while on certain opiates. Methadone is known to cause almost everyone to have increased sweating, I know I have that pretty bad, but for hydrocodone, it depends on the individual cuz everyone reacts different to each medication. Make sure and check if there is any other medication you are taking at night or even late afternoon that could play a role and if hydro is the only drug being taken then most likely that is one reaction your body has to its effects, which isn't completely uncommon. hope you find your answer Christos
I used to sweat like a pig back when I was using. I'd wake up with my t-shirt and the bed as wet as if someone had poured water all over me.
I assumed that the sweating was a result of the high, toxic levels of acetaminophen in my system. A Google search just now of [night sweats acetaminophen] confirmed my suspicion. Back to guessing again, if normal doses of acetaminophen can cause night sweats, then multiples of the "lethal dose" would account for the gallons I seemed to produce.

Thats exactly right mostly because of the tylenol in the vicodin. I had the same problem. It could also be depending on what time you took your last dose of vicodin that you might be going thru withdrawals at night and when u wake up. If i took my last dose for the day too early i would wake up around 2-3 am and be sweating and in full wds. I sometimes had to take another smaller dose just to stop the wds.
Good luck and the sweating should pass very soon it just your body telling you thanks for not taking vicodin lol
Thanks for the info.
Just an fyi tho, not asking about myself but my husband who INSISTS he stopped taking them in Mar.
Hi there...when I was using I would sweat profusely. I have never been a woman to sweat a lot, even when I was doing extensive excercise and playing tennis all through high school and college. When I got clean, I told my family some of the physical warning signs that I might be using and sweating, along with fixed pin point pupils and scratching a lot, was one of them. I hope that this helped and I hope that you get to the bottom of whatever is going on. Good luck! Oh, also, suboxone, even at a minimal dose, induces a lot of sweat for me and I never abused it so....I guess everyone is different.
I'm so sorry as I did not read your post very clearly. I didn't sweat at night when I was using...only when I was in gut wrenching withdrawls and that lasted for it seems like a month or so...Sorry!!
hydro is one of the most abused drugs on the market for pill poppers...it peaks very fast and has a short half life..in actuality u r in wds every morning due to the fast peak and short duration of the drug...hydro is rxd every 4-6 hrs....a drug that is rxd every 12 hours and time released will slowly release the medication instead of peaking so fast and then being "gone" answer..change to a more potent drug or quit now while u r ahead....quitting is the answer as this addiction crud will drown u if u diont watch out..u dont wanna sink..i am sure u wanna live
I'm on a schedule of oxycodone and hydrocodone, very low doses throughout the day for erosive degenerative osteoarthritis, I am happy with the pain control but the sweats keep me home espectially in the morning, its uncomfortable but compared to the joint and bone pain and ok tradeoff. however why does this happen, my pain dr. doesn't seen to know and offers me other pain meds which I've tried so many others I don't want to change..any ideas on how to live with the sweats,,make them less and why physiologically they happen.....thanks
