Are the people that post all the time the mods here?

I have been kind of sitting in the back ground here for a while and wanted to post. I read here everyday and I see alot of stuff thats not really what I would call support. The same people post to the questions and if its someone new vs someone who has been here a while,,, Well then those posts go untouched. Its like people jump to the ones that they know and the new people take the second to everyone else. I just really needed to bring it to someones attention. I didnt know that you had to be in a group to post here?

I am here because I was an addict and was surfing the web trying to find some things to read. I hope that you all beat your addiction and have a happy new year

Norco

I'm about as new here as you can get. Yet I have had people rally around me like you cannot imagine.

I'll say this, if you are friendly you'll have friends. I believe I have received a lot of response much more in PM than public reply. I would say to you there is no lack of support here and I noticed something different than you noticed.

I spotted the groups of friends right off and I did so because I could see them "mobbing" me collectively with support. Suddenly I had a dense group of people pushing, prodding, encouraging and I was like "Geez. I'm a bit pleased by all of this."

I would say this. When your apparent first post appears to be a criticism it makes people wonder what your motive really is. I certainly wonder. I have concerns about addiction and use of oxycodone and I've expressed them here. I think I have my medication use "in-check" but I've learned from reading and responses that this feeling of control is probably artificial and can lead to a nice fall before I hit the ground.

I'd say to you focus less on how "people" are treated and just get involved. If you see a question that has not been responded to then get involved and respond. If you truly are free of your own dependence/addiction then rub some dirt on your hands and get involved helping others.

My father raised me to be the type of person that identifies all the problems and work that needs to be done not with words but by jumping in and getting dirty under the tasks of making things right.

If you don't like something here or think that something is neglected lead the charge with actions not words and get involved. Way easier to coach from the side-lines than to get involved.

You lead and we will all too happily follow you. Life has plenty of complainers but few leaders. "Lock and Load" and welcome aboard. Let's get those unanswered post answered and then we don't have to waste time talking about them instead we can help them.

Good Luck!

Every so often a post like yours just strikes the forum to get lots of responses. Take everything with a grain of salt. The true heart of this forum is to help, support, give advice to other addicts. Without being judgmentall, at least to the best of ones ability.
I want to welcome you to this forum. How can we help you get through this? Do you have any questions? Are you being successful with the tapering? I couldn't do it. It was just too hard to take only 2 or 3 when 20 were in the bottle. Say I chose C/T. There isn't a right way to get clean. It is whatever works for you.
You know you can always start a new post too. Sometimes issues can get blown out of proportion here. We all tend to think from our own experiences which are not necessarily the same as yours.

Keep coming back. We really do need you as you need us. I think everyone here can say that this forum played a huge role in getting free from these drugs.

I think it is rather hilarious that the topic of this thread is old members not taking notice to new member posts, when here we ALL are, taking out time to continue this thread when there is a desperate member who is in need that got only like 12 replies. This is ridicules. Maybe if this was never posted we could all be helping David0263 and not pacifying someone who just wanted to stir the pot......

Enough said.............

Well, no offense to either of you. But Norco, if you came here to get help, then why on earth would you take notice to groups or clics, and if your not starting any sort of drama, why post to that effect? If you are just taking notice then why bring so much attention to it. Post do not go unanswered and Yes, you are certainly able to post your opinion. But in Roads defense, I too, took it as a little hostile. And we are all here for peace, understanding, support and love. So I am sorry that your post was taken out of context, but so was roads. She meant no harm. She was merely defending a place she had grown to love. And I am sure you would too if you stick with us. We are here to support all, not just friends. But you will see if you stay that you yourself will not be able to answer all post and will also make friends which whom you tend to answer quicker then others. But you will try to get to everyone. I can't answer a post on Coke as I have never done it, nor can I answer a post on Heroin as I have never done it. SO I am sorry. Good luck to you and all....

I am extremely new to this forum and have had a good experience so far.  I think some of them are a little "clicky" BUT not all.  Do be scared away so easily because you will find someone here that you can relate to.

Thank you , You are all so nice and understanding. I am trying very hard and I have and will never say that im not an addict , I can only try mu best and recover, but there will always be the want there im sure. Im not one to say no im cured just because I dont take them . I watched my sister struggle for years and no matter how bad she wanted to not be an addict she learned that she is. It never goes away we just have to learn to control it . Comment not needed W2L

I just want to tell you to hang in there. There are so many people here that want to help and have great advice. Sometimes I think that its like some said they dont post because its not their DOC so they dont have the advice you will need. Give it a little time sometimes its late at night or to early so maybe you will notice more activity during the day.

Don't feel bad.  It is good for people to express their sentiments.

I liked your post.  We all perceive things differently, and respond differently.  But, addicts we are and that is our common bond.

Well,  I am new here.  Only been here a couple days.  I really needed someone other than my fiance to talk to.  I felt like i was at my wits end. I felt like a train wreck.

So far I have received posts and mail from all sorts of really nice genuine people.  They seem to care about how I feel as I care how they feel.  Maybe you just got off on the wrong foot.  And sometimes it takes awhile for a post to get answered.

I just wanted to let you know that if you need to talk to someone then please by all means message me!!!!  :-)  OK?

Take care of yourself and do not get discouraged!!!!

well please stick around... when you keep posting (when/if you need it and want to) the support helps SO MUCH.  i can only speak personally, but it got me off the pills, coming here.  having people who understood how i was feeling.  it made all the difference in the world...

well she did say that she WAS an addict, i guess i get the feeling shes not now???
and she certainly doesnt sound like one that "self isolates" to me, but i could be wrong...it was an unecessary post.
if shes here for help, then ask for it, other than that it was pointless, IMO.
i happen to be speaking to 4 new people right now, PRIVATELY, because thats how THEY want it, and i REFUSE to post someone elses business...that is their decision to make not mine...

I have never seen a comment go unanswered.

I was addicted to methadone and am currently taking suboxone.  I have been addicted to hydro and taken a lot of oxys, 3s, fentanyl, dilauded.

My point is that like hopsing alluded to, I usually only answer the Sub and Methadone posts b/c I feel that is where I can give the most support.  That is where I do most of my posting, but I am not limited to those.

I also became an addict through recreation.  I have had pain issues, but certainly not the type that required the large amounts of meds I was taking.  Plus, I drank on my meds.

Good post, I like these discussions.  Birds of a feather flock together, especially if they know one another.

I posted that im tapering down . I have been taking Norco 10's for 2 years because of a car accident that caused compression fractures in my back. The doctors just keep giving them to me and I have finally stood up and told them no I will not take them anymore. I am tapering with what I have left and have come a long way.

listen... it's normal for people here to get defensive about a post like that.  ESPECIALLY when alot of people take the time to really go out of their way to help new people alot.  it's a gut reaction, like "Whaaaat?"  i had it too...  to state the obvious, some poeple get closer having been here for awhile, so they "chat it up" a little more.  that's all.

that all said - NORCOPRICESS - how can we help you?  forget about this stuff, and let us help you if you need it... we will.

luv to all,
mj

And to answer that question, Yes I am quitting, I have tapered down to 3 pills a day from 15 to 20 a day. I came here to get information on what to expect and just wanted to throw that out there because I had watched a couple posts this morning get 15 answers and a few got none that were posted around the same time, I think that some see the post topic and maybe its gets more atention so they go there.
