The best way i can explain how xanax feels is the analogy of a dream. One minute youre sober taking a pill and the next youre floating through reality without a care. Like in dreams, when you take xanax you do whatever without much thought. One minute you'll be doing one thing and the next thing you know youre in a different environment but you arent sure exactly how you got places but you still somewhat understand the dream. Its not good to live life like a dream instead of living out your dreams. And xanax abuse will keep your from doing that. God bless

Xanax has different effects on everyone. I feel really calm but when I am out with friend I get very happy and excited. I do know someone who steals stuff and rips people off. I do know that you will forget parts of the day while you were on them. I just know that everyone has different effects on the.

Xanax is different for everyone. It makes me feel calm but if I am out and about I can be very happy and excited, but most likely you will forget a lot details of that day. I know someone who steals peoples stuff and rips people off. So from my experience everyone is different on Xanax.

I've just started taking xanax for about 2 days for severe panic and anxiety disorders, the only thing is does for me is to keep me calm, so as to keep the disorders at bay, it also makes me EXTREMELY  sleepy which lately I haven't been able to do, due to the anxiety issues being so great...I have been reading how it gives some people that euphoric feeling, as well as the feeling of being "out of it" this has not been the case for me my dosage is 1mg 3x's a day, which I feel is a little too high of a dosage for me ( I only take them as needed as prescribed for myself) as it puts me fast asleep....I have been reading how very addictive they are and at the age of 44 I don't want to become addicted to anything.I have heard that these pills among others are pretty popular at raves for the "young kids" why? I can't understand.....Within these last two days I really am very unsatisfied with the side effects of drowsiness so I don't think I will be taking them anymore....I will be making an appointment to see my dr to be prescribed something else that's not addicting and has less drowsiness effects.....Good luck to all!!!

hey. honestly you are obviously too young to be taking drugs sweetheart. im 19 and i got a prescription for vic 10mg when i pulled a muscle in my neck and the ******* doctor gave me 180 with 3 refills! that alone had me fenning for more when they were gone. it is because of doctors like that why our generation of teens have such a problem with drugs. i honestly pray u can stop.
god bless.

Okay, so I'm young, but I will not tell my age. I am young enough that I live with my single mother, and one younger brother. I have a high on xanax as of this moment, and it's easier to tell you how it feels. Yesterday, between 4 and 5, I took three xanax, and an Advil PM. I went back to the business on my computer, That was the last thing I remember. When I woke up again, it was to my phone. It was 11:00 P.M., and everyone had already gone to sleep. I fely wobbly and unsteady on my feet. My while bosy was tingling, like every part of it was asleep. I got up and went to the bathroom, and nearly missed the toilet. When I finally got done with that mis-hap, and went to the kitchen to get some tea, and took three more xanax. I went to lay back down, and that is the last thing that I remember. Now, I am at home, and I can bearly type anything. I'm trying to get off of xanax, but it is addictive. Very much so. So please, don't start taking it, it's very hard to stop taking. Best wishes.
-Ann.

P.S.
It is now 10 in the morning

OMG
Been on xanax for 16 years, it just made me feel a lttle calmer, helped with panic attacks, didn't really notice any feeling, just absence of scary feelings.
NOW THE ScARY PART
Getting off xanax is the most excruciating pain i've ever experienced. Been tapering from 3mgs a day, down to 2mgs a day, and going any lower is worse than any pain i ever had. It's worse than breast cancer, worse than chemo, worse than labor and giving birth to a 9 1/2 lb baby standing up. ( Just a few of my experiences)
I am not a wimpy person, but this is hell. Am planning to go in-patient next month to get off this insideous medication.
Withdrawls include, possibility of seizures, heart attacks, stroke and permanent neurological damage.
IF YOU CAN, GET OFF IT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
The longer you take it, the more tolerance you get to the drug and the harder it is to stop. Doctors, ( my doctors anyway), NEVER TOLD ME ABOUT GETTING OFF XANAX.
I suggest you go to the Ashton Manual website and the Tranqulizer Recovery website and read all about benzodiazipaines.
I'm not a nut, am not exagerating, I'm a 64 year old, grandmother, retired social worker. Generic, "nice lady".
God bless you

Xanax is to help with stress and anxiety, it should calm you.  As with all meds, it has side effects most commonly dizziness and drowsiness, and some others.  The sides effects will be listed on your Rx information sheet.  It is also an addictive drug and should be monitored by your doctor.  If your dosage is too high, talk to you doctor.  Also my doctor said she recommends only using for a short time, not long term meds.  In additation to Xanax I am in counseling.  Keep in mind counseling is a long term process!!  But very helpful!!  Taking high doses for extended period of time can cause your tolerance to be high and the drug will not be effective.

I've taken lots of depression and anxiety meds. Xanax is the best in my opinion. I have no insurance anymore so I'm not actively taking them, but taking them daily keeps you from having panic attacks. My friend occasionally gives me a few of hers and I'll just take one if I have a panic attack and can't calm down. If you get easily stressed, talkative, jumpy, irritable or nervous these are anxiety signs. Also Klonopin I used to take. Valium and Ativan are also similar. I think it usually takes 2 weeks for anti depressants to work, so give cymbalta some time. I liked Wellbutrin when I was on it. It actually saved my life. Plus it made me quit smoking and lose weight. Man I'd like to take that again!

I used xanax for years back btwn the ages of 18 and 21 roughly, and then again for about the past 2 years on a daily basis. If yours is making you feel dopey or sleepy, the dose is too high. Ive always remained on the lowest dose .25 mg. I was given .50 mg to take, but i always broke them in half and used only half as much. Taken this way, it has never made me sleepy, slow, stoned or dopey feeling. Just normal again. takes away my panic. Although when i have to go to the dentist, thats another story, i have to take a full .50 on the way there, and sometimes another half again right before they start working on me because my panic goes through the roof.  ANyhow, what dose are you on? you may need to reduce the dose. You dont want it to make you feel adversly, it should just normalize you so you are not in a state of panic or distress.

I would only take the xanax if you are having bad anxiety. You might not need to take them everyday. just my opinion....

I'm not sure about Cymbalta, but Xanax makes you feel very slow and dopey.  I don't know how to explain it, other than a slow feeling.
