worried about pain killer use

I have been taking percocets for 3-4 years (on and off) I take no more that 2 10/325 at a time and usually no more than 4 per day.  By on and off I mean that I might take 8 one week, none the next, 4 the next, 10 the next, none the next, 3 the next, none for a month, and so on.  I am a 59 year old non drinker.  I excercise and eat well.  I a starting to be concerned about my health and possible addicition.  If I stop now should I still worry? Thanks

If its making you worry and stressing you out and you are NOT taking them for medical reasons then yes you should stop. I think you already know that or else you wouldnt be here asking :) Good luck it should be relatively easy to stop considering you havent taken much.

You should stop now b4 itgets worse. You are not on that high of a dose and you said you go a week without any so w/d should be bad. The physcial part is the easiest part staying clean is harder. You should get yourself to a meeting or get someother form of aftercare. Good luck.

Basically recreation.  I have been without a drink for over 24 years and just started to mess around with perc's 3-4 years ago on and off.  I am a nervous person and worry a lot and this is my latest worry.  Have I hurt myself.  My gut says no (which enables me to continue use) and my conscious say yes (which makes me want to stop).  Getting tired of the rollorcoaster.  Thanks for your reply.  Gank

Ganky, As of right now it seems like you have it all under CONTROL. You are that point one percent lol. IF you can go on for a week and then stop for a week and keep it under 4 pills and you have been doing that for years, wow, my hats off to you.  I am sure you are a professional at the minor withdrawls by now so I wouldn't beat myself up so bad.! If you stop now why would you worry? You sound strong, healthy, and in control. Anyways direct msg me if you would like to chat, I have been to hell and back with a pill addiction. All my respect to you.

I would stop..The body becomes dependent/addicted whether we abuse or not..You don't want it to get worse..Check with your Dr. But I would definitely stop before it becomes worse.
