Congratulations, Stella !
We all all on this road together.
I hope to build alot here.
Thank you Stella for the hats off, and welcome to this community. I hope I can be of help answering questions and providing much needed information to those who are as in the dark about adrenal insufficiency as I was two years ago. However, having said that, I feel that my knowledge is very limited, and I welcome you, and all others who can enlighten me with your experiences with this.
Thanks
Why are the adrenals overlooked so much in the medical community? Yet we hear over and over that over 80% of people suffer from some sort of adrenal fatigue.
Stress is a huge roll in everyone's lives now a days and the issues effected in itself should be looked at more.
This forum is small and I hope it grows with more members sharing their information on this topic.
I have to say one member here - enzymelover- has had such an experience with adrenal crises with her son - that she is such a great source of information to this board.
What wouldn't we do for our children? Especially when they are in a health crises?
Hat's off to you enzy and I hope you are availble to share your resources on adrenal fatigue and crises more as this board grows.
Again - I ask for everyone to contribute their resources and references to start to create a health page on this forum.
This is something in the public that is growing in epidemic levels and getting the knowledge and resources to build a team approach with our doctors that are taking care of us is critical.
I have had a life changing situation that happened to me 6 yrs ago with my thyroid that has been my driving force to never let anyone suffer the way I did. Poor doctors and bad treatment that kept me ill - almost dead twice. My adrenals had suffered horribly - but never were addressed until just a year ago.
The endocrine system is a "blend" of functions. Each thing supports the other and if one malfunction is present - it can't be looked at as the only one that is damaged. Repair is key and the more "bandaids" we put on one thing the worst things get for the others.
There is a reason why we feel bad - it's not "depression" or "anxiety" - it's not "we need to diet more and exercise" ( yet we should as we know) It is a "sense" of not feeling well and we need the support of our doctors to help us figure it out.
I hope I can really support this board here as I really try to over on thyroid and also make alot of friends that can also support me in my things too.
There's more to this story than needs to be said - my journal named " I thought I was dying" explains more.
Congrats Stella!! keep up the great work here!
