Anxiety emergency

I'm completely freaking out. I have General Anxiety Disorder and I don't think my medication is working. I've been on Citalopram (20mg) since March but my panic attacks are becoming more frequent, I'm sweating, trembling, my heart is beating super fast, I have really bad nausea, and I'm either sleeping too much or not at all. I'm terrified I'm going to fail my exams because I've been missing so many classes due to these symptoms. Help!

Did you ever get any relief? Celexa only takes up to 8 weeks for maximum effect, so there should have been some prescription change if you didn't get relief. I tried Welbutrin first but couldn't get past 5PM, when the grey walls of depression and panic would come crashing down.

I've been on them since March so nearly 9 months, which is why I'd hoped to be clear of the effects by now. I'm hoping they'll change it altogether because I think a stronger dose would make the symptoms worse :(

I have GAD to and take Zoloft and Ativan as needed. Sounds like the med that you are taking now is not helping.Or maybe they can give you a stronger dose?

how long have you been on Citalopram? Effect weakens after a time. You might need a change. Most alternativesare habit forming. I take alprazolam .50 under the tongue and am clear of symptoms - sick, dizzy, abdominal malaise, fatigue etc.-  most of the time in half an hour
