Waking up with racing thoughts?

I have to be so specific when describing "racing thoughts" otherwise I get the hypomania card thrown at me. Trust me, I wish it was hypomania. At least I'd feel good and somewhat creative instead of feeling like I'm going crazy and the world is gonna crash on me. I've been waking up feeling horrid for the past few days and my thoughts literally racing the second i wake up. I'm assuming it's just too much cortisol (stress hormone). Any tips on how to manage it? And is this common with anxiety? I hardly experience it. My #1 anxiety symptom is EXCESSIVE WORRY. (no surprise)

Another thing: It VERY slowly goes away. I experienced this primarily when starting certain antidepressants that increased my anxiety as a start up effect. I feel like I'm going nuts here (I know I'm not.)

I see in your Oct 9 thread about Cymbalta cold turkey withdrawal that you just replied that the zaps are still occurring. Until the withdrawal stops it is hard to say how you will feel, so hang in there.

You said on that thread that your psychiatrist won't put you on Celexa until the withdrawal is over, so at least you are getting professional guidance to see you through this.
And if you did do this cold turkey with that drug, you could experience a pretty long withdrawal, and sleep problems are the most common long-term effect.  Have you ever tried meditation?  It won't cure your anxiety, but it can even things out.
