I have anxiety as well, and I have gotten migraines since I was in Jr High and now am 29. I can definitely relate with you. WHen I am not pregnant I take excedrine migraine and that is the only thing that seems to help. I have tried prescription meds as well, but they just dont work, including Vicadin. The asprin in Excedrine is what doesn the trick combined with the caffeine and acetominophen. Give that a shot if you have not tried it already. Just make sure you eat before you take it, sometimes it can cause really bad heartburn or indigestion.
Hi ticha, I too have had really severe tension headaches since I was in high school. Anxiety makes us tense, which in turn, can cause the headaches we have. Before I stopped working, my headaches were so debilitating I had to take a Fiorinal tablet once a day at the very least. Excedrin is a good pain reliever too if you can handle the caffeine, but caffeine is anxietys enemy as you probably know. Bufferin, which is a buffered aspirin, has no caffeine and works really well too.
Do you take something for your headaches already?
Anxiety can definately give you a constant headache. Remember, in this panic/anxiety cycle, in my experience, it tends to wear you down day after day both physically and mentally. How much sleep do you get on average? Have you talked it through with anyone? So, the short answer to this is yes; anxiety can give you bad headaches. Sorry to ask so many questions but have also expressed your concerns with your doctor? Please keep us posted!
