Yea I got to counciling everyother week, but it doesn't help when I have days like I've been having for the pastfew days, I hav no one to talk to! It just really scares me an it's like if I had some reassurance maybe that would help some! I would like to just go to the ER so they can check me for everything but it's kinda hard with 3 kids and 100 symptoms!!! How am I suppose to get through this!?? Do u take an meds?
Anxiety can be very confusing and scary (especially in the beginning). In my experience with health anxiety, whatever we are worried about is what we tend to focus in on. For example, when I was worried about heart health, I felt every little pain, twinge, palpatation, etc. Anything I percieved as out of the ordinary I linked it to my worst fear. I also believe we can become so hyper-sensitive to what is going on in our bodies that we feel every little symptom that we would not necessarily even pay attention to on any given day. In my opinion, we also tend to misinterpret a 'symptom' as something wrong with us, when there is inherently nothing phyisically wrong.
So, what you describe sums up what most of us initially go through in my opinion. The good news is you can definitely get through this! Are you in counseling for your anxiety? For me, learning about it, shed light and understanding on something that was initially very confusing to me. By gaining the knowledge about why I was thinking the way I did, it gave me the power to confront it. Keep us posted!
