Yes, I agree talk with your Dr, sorry I forgot to mention that.
The reason why I was saying to find a happy medium is because of the doubling the dose thing. Its usually better to gradually go up, of course the lower Mgs needed, the better with Benzodiazapines.
But If I were you I would take naumor and iladvocate's advice.
I agree with iladvocate when he said that you should find out what is going on with your blood pressure, remember doctors make mistakes too. I'd get a second opinion if i were you. It's your life not theirs. Also if you don't mind me asking what is your height and weight and how long have you been on the klonopin? Do you drink alcohol, if so how often? And last question, what symptoms did you give your doctor for him to double up on the klonopin? I know these are personal questions but maybe i can shed some light.
I might speak to another doctor about the blood pressure issue. I haven't heard of that happenning with Klonopin but it generally shouldn't. Sedation can be a problem but many people get over it. I am on 2 and a half mg. of Klonopin and I hardly notice it and am not at all sedated. Then again some people I know can't tolerate it all so it all depends. Remember you are dealing with a benzodiazepene so don't make any changes without speaking to your psychiatrist but a sudden drop in blood pressure would be of concern to me. I take medications and have taken medications that are known to drop blood pressure (Clonidine and Atenolol which are both blood pressure pills although I was prescribed them for other purposes and Zofran which has that effect and Clozaril in the past) and Klonopin has never had that effect and its now a side effect that it generally causes. Are you taking something else that it could be interacting with? Even if your doctor says that that blood pressure is acceptable I'd still want to know where its coming from as Klonopin is generally not a problem in this area.
Did you ever try cutting the dose down to say 1.5 total a day? Something in the middle?
