How to taper off bromazepam (a benzodiazepine) for anxiety?

Hi,
I want to stop taking the anti-anxiety drug I was given (in France):  Bromazépam 6 mg.  It's in the class of benzodiazepines.  The doctor had advised me to take 1.5 to 3 mg daily, as needed, in case of anxiety.  That's what I've done.  It's a white 6 mg pill that can be broken into 4 sections (of 1.5 mg each).  I've read that withdrawal symptoms are likely if I stop taking them abruptly.  I don't think I've reached a point of dependency but I don't want to go any further with these pills.  How can I taper off this pill to avoid withdrawal symptoms, just in case?  Advice, please?  I've kept a log of how much I've taken and how often, so far, if I need to be that specific.  I haven't taken it every day, nor have I felt a "need" to take it.  I have situational anxiety/stress and have taken it when I felt very anxious or was crying.  On days that I didn't take it, I didn't miss it.  Today I took more than usual because I was in a bad mood (and that was a dumb reason).   Thank you in advance for counsel.

You can't quit a benzo abruptly because there's a risk of seizures in addition to withdrawal.  The way to stop is to taper off very slowly, at a speed which suits you because you won't react the same as someone else.  Most docs including psychiatrists use a general schedule they apply to everyone, but you need to insist on a taper that suits you.  If it's too hard, slow down; if it goes easily, you can do it more quickly.  Follow how you feel.

are off with bromazepam right now? how did you do it? and what your tapering scheds? ive been also with bromazepam now for 2 months 1.5mg a day
