I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO ANYMORE.....

I just never feel right anymore!!  I've been to my doctors many different times....I have high blood pressure, pre diabetes, metabolic syndrome, obesity an anxiety.  I've been getting numerous sinus infections an now have to go for allergy testing & a sleep study!!  I just wish I could feel good & not  always feel like there is something wrong with me!  My main problems are my eyes always feel icky, like there's a film on them & sometimes a cloudy like vision, I get occassion dizzy/spinning episodes, ill get a hot like flash, funny sensation in my upper stomach & just the fact that I don't feel like my normal.  I know it's a LOT but its really what I experience!!

I am in therapy!!  However, I'm petrafied to take medicine!!  I try to just take care of it with just the therapy an I occasionally will take benadryl if it gets real intense!

I'm kinda at a lose an just don't know what to do........

I don't know what your regimen is, but your particular conditions are best managed through diet and exercise and the like.  The old way of finding a holistic nutritionist was to go to your best local health food store and they'd have a list of practitioners, but nowadays there might not be a good local health food store in your area because Whole Foods has monopolized the market and forced the remaining stores to operate like Whole Foods.  You can try googling holistic nutritionists in your area or try to plug into the local community of people who use that type of health care to get a referral from someone.  If there are still small good local health food stores in your area that's still an option, and this doesn't mean GNC, it means a place owned by someone who does it out of conviction, not just to make money.  Hard to find these days, but there are networks you can access of people who use alternative medicine in your community.  I don't recommend regular nutritionists or dieticians because they don't know what they're doing -- they're the ones who devise cafeteria and hospital menus, and studies show these will kill you, so you want a holistic one.  If there are naturopaths in your area they might also know of one.

Blood work done by doctors looking fine is good, but having good blood work on the occasions you measure it and feeling good aren't the same things.  I can't tell you what to do specifically, so I suggested you see a holistic nutritionist to get a professional opinion on where you can start to build a healthy positive course of action.  Doctors are well trained to give diagnoses and prescribe medication, but they don't know much about getting down to causes and life changes.  My own opinion is that's where you should start, and unfortunately the allopathic medical profession only deals in treating symptoms.  Practitioners of integrated medicine can also be of help, as they are physicians who have moved on from the mere diagnosing and prescribing to studying the rest of what brings health -- diet, exercise, meditation.  In your case, all I know is what you've stated, and most of that is diet related, so that's why I suggested what I did, but whatever you do, try to find a way to get from here to where you want to feel given that what you feel appears to match so well the medical problems you've stated.  All I can do is suggest areas that might help, but I really can't tell you for certain what's going on so I can only say, when you reach the limits of what doctors do for you find a different professional and see what happens.

I do not eat lots of wheat & dairy!  My sugar is always normal when I check it, without medication.  I was on metformin for a short time, an always had to go to the restroom.  I'm trying to work on my diet but mainly just nit eating as much is the thing I'm doing.

Its like I will feel ok for a while then I will have times where I wake up & go to sleep not feeling right!  And this is a time that is happening!!  When I get blood work it comes back great, so I just don't understand what's wrong??!!

My nose is kinda stuffy & I noticed a swollen lymph node under my jaw is swollen.  But sugar & BP are both normal.....

Thanks for any advice & help!!

I am on no medication for anxiety!  I started with the emotional problems first then I had anxiety for a while, it went away now im dealing with it again.  Its awful right now!!!!  I do not eat a lot of wheat and dairy, I try to eat small meals mostly.  I was on metformin er for my prediabetes but have went off it due to having to go to the bathroom so much and my sugar an aic has been good during check ups.  My blood work at the doctor usually always comes back good!  So I don't understand why I feel the way I do??!!

The past few days have been horrible!!!  I will feel ok for a while then I start getting weird feelings in my upper stomach, my hands ge real sweaty feel ing and I start feeling anxious & afraid that something is bad wrong with me......does that make sense???

I just don't know what to do??  I want to feel alright and not like this anymore.

Thanks for any help and advice!  I can really use it!!!!!!!!!

Given the health problems you list here I'd be surprised if you didn't feel poorly.  Are you working on your diet in a serious manner?  Blood sugar problems cause all manner of circulatory and neurological difficulties and cause anxiety as well.  No pill for anxiety will help if it's being caused by your blood sugar problems.  On the other hand, if you eat because you're anxious, that's something else.  But also consider that many people gain a lot of weight on the medications used for anxiety.  I have no idea what came first here, the emotional problems or the blood sugar problems, but if it's the latter, that's where you need to focus your work.  Holistic nutritionists can be of help here.  As for your sinuses, do you eat a lot of wheat and dairy?  How well are you regulating your intake of simple carbs and sugar?  I see a lot of issues here that need consideration.

I am sorry that you are going through this right now.  Anxiety in itself can seem overwhelming in my opinion.  I believe you made the right choice by going seek help through therapy...in my opinion, that is the most important step to take.

Being nervous about taking medication in the beginning happens to a lot of us. I refused to take it for about 3 months and in retrospect, I wish I would have started it earlier.  I am a big propenent of both medication and therapy...many studies show that this combination is very powerful in confronting anxiety and depression.  I look at it this way.  If diet and exercise alone would help my high blood pressure, would I take a pill for it?  Yes, I would.  The same thing is true when I have a headache....I usually choose to take an Advil or Aleve, so why is anxiety any different?  I honestly get many more side effects from taking an antihistamine than I do with SSRIs like Zoloft, Celexa, etc.  It was not my first choice, but for me, it was the correct one.  I usually try to advise people to keep an open mind with it...have you talked to your therapist about it?
