Is no news for a week with a call back for a CT scan authorized good news?

Hey sorry to ask more questions; I don't wanna be a pest or bombard the forum but would any of you be so kind to give me insight on this? I went to the Dr. with the severe stomach/abdominal pain and he did bloodwork and I asked for a CT scan he told me they only authorize it if they believe it needs to be done. So no word about the bloodwork all this time then they called leaving me a message that the CT scan was authorized a week or so later. Oh my gosh i'm so scared...did they find something? I always heard no news was good news but i'm not to sure about this now. Does that sound bad? Did he not want to tell me until the ct scan was done so he wouldn't frighten/ stress me out?

Everything sounds promising,a nd yes, when you get the "all clear" on the CT, that will help you to start accepting that maybe anxiety is the cause.  It's hard to do with such real physical symptoms!

Oh no, it is this wednesday. It's ok...don't be sorry. Haha wow you are so right as I called them back and asked them to call me back with the test results on the lab work aaaaand still no response! Awesome!!! I take that as a good thing as they would probably be calling back right away like you said " no news is good news" :P XD Yes it was just to confirm that the CT scan was authorized and had nothing to do with the lab work. Damn you are smart. :) :) :) I'm so glad i've run into you nursegirl. Thank you for all of your your help. I think with this CT scan out of the way i'm safe to say with once he changes the meds like you said to do and with this therapist i'm hopefully on the road to recovery alot sooner due to all of your awesome advice. Hey, cool. You are so right and thank you, you are in my prayers as well. I hope your colonoscopy turns out ok. Do you think all this stomach abdominal pain that we both are suffering from is in fact stress related? I guess we'll both find out with these tests being done. For me if this test comes back ok this is probably going to be the last biggest indicator that yes it's due to anxiety that i'm stressed to a point I never knew and didn't even realize how bad it was effecting my body. Yes you are right. Stress does us no good and seems to just magnify these problems. Ok will do. Thank you for your reply and take care, again you are in my prayers as well.

I thought you already had the CT, sorry.

They are most likely just calling because they finally got authorization for the CT.  It probably has nothing to do with your lab work.

I would not worry to much, call dr and ask them why they doing a ct scan. i got a recall back on a test and they did more scans it was all good.

stressing does us no good as i can say that i have been seducle for a colonoscopy test next thursday i have stressed it so bad that in 5 days ive lost 3 pds and now my stomack in bad shape trying to get it back so i can have that test. so dont stress it only leads to other problems.  let us know what takes place and your in my prayers

Hey there Nursegirl. Really? That is good to know. I have heard this on countless occassions to but don't know. I guess what I'm trying to get at though is to why they authorized the CT scan for the abdominal pain as he told me they will only do it if they believe there is a good reason for it. That is what has got me worried is that maybe since I haven't heard the results yet and I did notice I missed there calls by accident that maybe something was wrong as the call I did get was that they authorized the CT scan. I dunno

Very true in the medical field that no news is good news.  They are probably just calling to share the results.

I believe you're right about no news is good news. If it were something going on they would have called by now.
