I never realized that all those feelings were symptoms of anxiety..I never could tell when a bad period was coming till it actually hit..But hearing you talk about those symptoms now I remember feeling all of those things before a really bad time..Feeling like you are in a dream state and nothing around you is real not even yourself..I thought I was just going crazy..
I, too, am an anxiety sufferer, have been since I was 25 and I am now 53.
All the symptoms you mention ARE anxiety related, I bet I have had almost any symptom there is, and there are lots. I posted a journal with a long list of symptoms, you are welcome to read it, believe it or not, I have most of them.
I have found these two books, by Dr. Claire Weekes to be most helpful to me, in fact, I have worn them out from reading so much and underlining. The names are: "Hope and Help for your Nerves" and "Peace From Nervous Suffering" You can get them on-line from Borders or Amazon. I highly recommend them, they will really help you.
When you feel an "attack" come on, just try to relax into "it" don't fight it as this cause the adrenal flush or flight or fight feelings. You may notice the symptoms/feelings are not so bad when you do this, she calls it "acceptance" and until this is done, the panic will always rule you. It takes time, believe me, to do this, I still have a hard time, but, it DOES work.
Being a Christian, I pray, and this helps a lot too, I must remember to trust our Lord more, that is sometimes not too easy for me.
We are all here for you, keep posting, especially when you are scared, this forum is truly a blessing to all.
I hear you, that was me a year ago. And yes anxiety can make you feel all the symptoms you listed. You have to tell yourself I have anxiety, all these symptoms are because I have anxiety. Embrace it, have you ever actually passed out somewhere,I bet you haven't. Your not going to die, be strong, your not alone, just think of me and all the millions out there that go through life like we do. At work when you feel you may faint, just say I'm not going to faint, this is only my anxiety. Just breathe long breaths, drink water and let it pass. Do not dwell on it either, your symptoms are not normal but they are for us! All the horrible symptoms you feel, will all pass. Exercise helps too, also if you believe in God then prey to Jesus this always helps me. Educate yourself, there are many websites with super long list of all the crazy symptoms we feel, I swear I've felt them all. I don't know if you take meds, some say they work wonders. I,m glad you found med help, it's really helped me. I always post questions if I feel a little unsure about something and someone always helps me out, which makes me feel great! I hope I helped you some, I feel your pain so hang in there!
