Hi everyone -
Please remember this is the Anxiety Community, and it's purpose is to discuss anxiety, not STDs.
Also, HIV tests are most likely conclusive by 6 or 8 weeks, and are conclusive at 3 months, according to test manufacturers and our experts, as well as recent guidelines by the CDC.
Thanks,
Emily
I can't really say about bacterial infections.I have done excesive searching about hiv,hep b and c because those were my biggest fear.If you say that you have been tested negative for everything then you shoul trust the doctors.Maby test one more at 3 months for hiv and hepatitis c.You can allways post in the doctors forum of this site I think that they could give you a more accurate and expert answer.
Yes luckily I was vaccinated for Hep A & B - 7 year ago. I know the clinic's don't test for the two bacterial infections I mentioned above. So I went private yesterday. hopefully the result will be negative but then again be good to finally have an answer. Been reading lots of posts of guy's who have burning tingling feeling in penile and never figure out what it is.
Then you have nothing to worry about regarding to std's.I think that 12 weeks is conclusive for hiv.Have you been vaccined for hepatitis b? If not then you should get vaccined. I am not a doctor so I can't tell you why you have this ''symptoms'' but if you were at the clinic then you are covered they know best.
Hi PinkFloyd - yes been to the GUM clinic 3 times. They tested me by swabs and urine tests each time.
Hiv tests are very reliable at 8 weeks and conclusive at 12 weeks. There are other std's that they can not be tested by blood tests.Have you visited a doctor spesialised in std's? He will consult you about what kind of tests you need and when to take them.
Hope you figure it out Vince, I ve had a couple more tests this week regarding possible bacterial infection it could be. Trichomonisis and Mycroplasma Genitalia. will have results by Friday. Regarding HIV I have been told by many experts that 8 weeks combo test is conclusive in this day an age. So I'm feeling ok about HIV. Just want to get answers now been to long wondering what this could be.
Not to scare you but test hiv at 3 months by then most people develop antibodies and to be sure they say 6 months. And then again there are always unexplained viruses or bacterial like mine... I been trying to figure out what I have for the past 10 months
