And as of today has been 15 days, my miscalculation.
I've been experiencing fever and chills , muscle jerks, pacing, stomach issues, headaches, and crying. I stopped because I was do tired that it scared me taking care of my family and returning to work and now in this state I haven't been able to return yet either. Physically I am miserable and I'm not on any other medications but the dr . I've had never checks and just says keep taking it even though it was supposed to be a short term help for post-partum anxiety.
What are you feeling? You don't say. But Paxil is the hardest of all these drugs to stop taking, and I sure wouldn't do it cold turkey. Doesn't mean you won't be the exception and have an easy time of it, but this isn't a medication to fool around with. So again, how serious is what you're feeling, and are you willing for it to possibly last a whole long time? If not, go back on it and taper off as slowly as you need to, but if you want to tough it out, nobody can tell you how long it'll last because you're the only you and no new antidepressant will do anything about any withdrawal symptoms you might have.
It's really not a good idea to stop these meds cold turkey especially when you've been on them for a long time.
I would recommend working with your Dr on a tapering schedule. I know you've already quit taking them but you may want to think about starting them again and tapering. The withdrawal will be so much less this way.
What are your symptoms now? Usually withdrawal canl include nausea, anxiety, headaches, brain zaps, trouble sleeping and other possible symptoms.
