Benadryl is a antihistamine, and the particular antihistamine that is in it "Diphenhydramine" slows down the respiratory, lower then what the Benzo already bring it "thats the reason they give cronic hyperventilation people benzos, to slow down the breathing"
The combination can cause DEATH...it might not happen allot, or it may depend on how much you take, but I assure you this, MY PHARMACIST INSISTED I NEVER TAKE BENADRYL, or over the counter sleep aids with a benzo "otc sleep aids are nothing but Diphenhydramine"

other then that, it *****, because Benadryl really works good on me, lol makes me all dried up, breathing good, and...sometimes sleepy....  if Im lucky

Fat chance for any of that happening any time soon.

Please don't start the "benzo for life" thing with me. You sound like a pharmaceutical rep.  Benzo's, in time, only reduce the GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid) receptor's   ability to function at the same levels, causing a reduced ability to control anxiety. You do not want to experience this.  Like many other drugs it causes the very thing it was supposed to help.

It is interesting that you bring up the subject of Benadryl. I understand that benzo's have an "additice effect" on benadryl.  I don't know exactly what this means. Does this hamper the tappering off of benzo's, making the w'd's more difficult. What are the dangers?  Because many are out there being told to take Benadryl for sleep while tappering off.

My Dr and pharmacist told me, they also put a label on my bottle that says dont stop abruptly can cause seizure...etc..
But the one thing a pharmacist was wrong on, was the cognitive impairment.
When I first had to start taking Klonopin, I was getting my memory messed up..plus my GAD was horrible which wasnt helping my memory, and I asked a Pharmacist, and all he told me was OVER LONG PERIOD OF TIMES this can happen.. I looked at him and laughed out loud knowing he didnt know jack "this wasnt my normal pharmacist"
I believe there should be a government site that has a database for all medicines, possible side effects, if there addicting or not, ways to get off when you no longer need them.
A COMPLETE LIST of other medicines that counteract with each other :I cant tell you how many people I have to tell not to take Benadryl with ANY BENZO because the risk of DEATH" most DRs dont tell you stuff like that.
So I believe to insure proper education on ALL MEDICINES there should be a website with all information on the Medicine, and ALL DOCTORS should be required to notify the patient this website, when prescribing, as well as pharmacist.
If one doesnt have a computer or is computer savvy, they should have Medicine guideline books that are given out, with all resources to information, and to underline addiction level, and all of the above.
But all oft this should be done in a proper manner to insure there will be no "placebo withdraw" or "scare tactic" that would misrepresent a medicine to look like there is no therapeutic effect from it.
Like Ive said before, some people just need it, there are also conditions where people have GABA deficiencys that have to basically take Benzos for the rest of there life
Or people who do not tolerate SSRIs and can only take a benzo as a medicine that is effective against anxiety "severe"

Yes I agree.

But how do you make sure people are told about their addictive properties and how to come off when they are givin these drugs. The product insert just does not cover it. I've yet to talk to a pharmasist who knows as much about a benzo as even people here on this forum. Today there is a lot more resources to research information, but not everybody uses the internet. And many people figure they will just take them for a few, maybe 6 months then stop. That's when all hell breaks loose. And those people are running around saying "nobody told me".

I agree, All benzos can be addicting quite quick, but like Ive said in other posts, if you have to take one, Id rather see someone take a longer lasting one

The withdrawals are the very worst when you reach the lower dose. 1/4mg is a good acheivement. See site benzo.uk.org for a water titration on valium. That will make it a much smoother way off. There are those that will tell you that you can't be having withdrawals from klonopin within 6 months of just .5mg 3 x a day. Not true!!!!!

You will be fine!

I would suggest talking to your DR. about it, and just simply tell them that you need this med.
Also, Klonopin is a Benzo that is used for Anxiety prevention and maintenance.
So Im not trying to question your DR. But in order to achieve therapeutic results typically one needs to take Klonopin BID "2-3 times" daily, keeping a constant steady state.
So If I were you Id just talk to my DR. and tell them these things, and if they treat you like a drug seeker, "like allot of them do" then simply go find a DR. that understands anxiety better.
But from what you have said,
"been on this dose for 3 months now. ive noticed i cant go lower because of withdrawal symptoms"
Are you still on klonopin because you need them for your anxiety, or are you still on them because of withdraws?
because if your simply on them because of "withdraws" which can also allot of time be anxiety coming back "or visa versa" then I would suggest to talk to a DR about a proper taper plan, and get off them because Klonopin "as well as other benzos" should only be taken if really needed because of the Cognitive impairment it may induce in a Person.
1/4 mg a day is very low dose, are you sure this is withdraw?
your body should be adjusted to the difference by now it seems.
do you experience "withdraw" from the 1/4 mg, or when you take nothing at all?
in any matter, I would suggest to go talk to your DR. about this
