I'm on 10mg of lexapro and now almost on my fourth week.I experienced one really bad headache while on it but,i have had none since then.I used to often get them bef.i started this medicane.I am just now getting to the point of feeling comfortable with takeing it bec.when i first started i had really bad anxiety.I also was takeing 1mg of adavan in which i cut down to .5 now.I still feel allittle anxious but,not like before.I can handle it now.I am also worried about comeing off of it and the withdrawls. But,i guess i will worrie about that if and when it comes.I think your symptoms could be related to just stopping the med and your anxiety. My doc.said i cannot wean myself off this med.I have to be tapperd off as well as the adavan. But,i'm not sure after you where only takeing it for 2 days.I still do feel tired though. It kinda *****.I think you need to seriously talk to your doc about your depression and headachs. That is important.I hope you get better soon.As far as your heartburn you can drink milk, eat crackers or toast.when you have it.Also eat in small portions and don't lay down right after you eat.Maybe pepcid or rolaids will help to.But,i'm not a doc.talk to him/her first.
I don't trust MY neuro anymore either! What a coincidence. Wonder if they're the same JERK? LOL
If your internist can't pinpoint the problem, perhaps your next stop should be the gastroenterologists? After FOUR doctors, I finally ended up at the gastro and got a diagnosis.
NSAD's are probably the culprit for your heartburn............eat your stomach lining for lunch.........give them the chance!
I don't want to be an alarmist, and I think it's great if the Lexapro stopped the headaches, but I think it's very important that you find out the reason for the headaches before you simply medicate them away. I am most definitely NOT thinking brain tumor here..........more like chronic tension, a tweaked neck muscle........something like that. (Dealing with the same thing myself right now!)
Well, you're a smart cookie. You and your doc will figure this out. Let me know what you end up doing, OK?
Take care

You're right of course. I just don't trust my neuro anymore and made an appt. with an internist regarding the recurring heartburn, weakness, and tiredness. I'm sure the hearburn was brought on by consuming NSAID's for the occipital neuralgia.
Anyway, for some strange reason the Lexapro seemed to help with the headache. That's why I was thinking about trying it again...maybe just 2.5 mg and slowly work up to 5mg, then 10 mg.
Thanks for your response :)
We can't advise you about starting, stopping or changing doses of your meds, but I would certainly advise you to talk to your doctor about the chronic headaches and the heartburn. I don't know enough about the interactions of drugs to know if the addition of Lexapro on top of Klonopin would have caused the reactions you had. Many of the symptoms you described are normal side effects when beginning Lexapro and will usually go away when your body adjusts.
You might want to discuss going to a Pain Management Clinic if you can't find the cause of the headaches and get them under control. Stress and depression are both triggers for headaches.
See your doctor for other options or seek a second opinion.
Don't give up.
