Yea that what ever body says u need to keep ur self busy but i do and it doesint help
I have problems with anxiety, and sometimes the more I think about a problem or subject, the worse it gets until finally, I am in a full-blown panic attack, no fun. I try to keep my self busy when I can tell I am getting that way, this occupies my mind and most of the time I can ward off the feelings.
You asking is it normal to freak out when you think about how the mind works in general? I suppose if you were an anxious person, who liked to disect everything about themselves, then it would be normal. People with anxiety do it and similar things a lot. They pick up on every little twitch and twinge and focus in on it. Make it into something much bigger. Until it becomes a problem. I would imagine that is what you are doing with your mind. Just have to distract yourself. Give yourself something to do. So you won't have the time to sit there and study how the mind works. The less attention you give it the less it will bother you.
