In my experience,  I have gone on and off drugs for years and years.  Was a self medicator with ALL my scipts.  (that would be 8 in all)  I also ended up hospitalized and really amazed
my doctors I am fully functioning now.  I use this forum almost like a journal with my own experiences and hope they help SOMEONE out there.  Medicine is big money, unfortunately, and we have to do our best to be self taught and NOT freakout over all the side effects, be our own advocate.  Weening off of Xanax after 10 days?  piece of cake!

Be careful about taking advise... you don't know the people who are advising you. Some have addictive natures. Klonopin is the lesser of evils. You need to outway the risks with the benfits. Be prepared for withdrawals. Don't expect a doctor or rehab to help you properly come off them. You have been advised about benzo's and you know. I have been at deaths door from an addiction to xanax, I mean neurologists and seizures and er's. But I am here now and am healing...without any help from anyone here at this forum.
This addiction all started with a small prescription of ativan in 1999 from a gp, because my mother died. NEVER did anyone tell me about the addictive nature of the pills. I wish they had of.

best wishes

I just wrote a comment on the Differences of alprazoplam "xanax" and the klonopin differences.
if you feel you need a medicine like this for a bit, please talk to your Doc about klonopin, or any other longer lasting Benzodiazapine "there all in the same class of medicine"
when it stays in your system longer it is easier to taper off with very minimal withdraw..if any.
It is a safer choice because Klonopin has less side effects compared to allot of the shorter acting benzos.
and it also has less of a potential to become tolerant, and "need more" for the same effect.
I hate Xanax, I dont even know why they still prescribe it, because all it does is create a "yoyo" effect every 4 hours having to take more. And is considered the worst Benzo to withdraw from.
I dont think your at risk for a "seizure" due to your low dosage and duration of time you've taken it for. But Im not a Doc, so I dont know
You could be experiencing rebound anxiety???

Best wishes

are you sure its not just the normal anxiety u were feeling before taking the meds and feeling better? i take lorazepam daily (similar to xanax) and i have been doing this for over a year. i have stopped on several occasions and feel nothing out of the ordinary anxiety that id have without it. MAYBE if you were taking a high dose for ten days u might have a little withdrawal. but id say you pretty much got nothing to worry about. the big problems are almost always associated with higher doses over extended periods of time. and just because there is a select group of very vocal people who have had a bad benzo experience, it creates a lot of fear and propaganda about these meds that they dont deserve.

After only 10 days at such a low dose, (was that your TOTAL dose?) you shouldn't have too much trouble with the withdrawl, but your doctor should have warned you to never just stop Xanax. When was your last dose? I would advise giving your doctor a call and letting him know how you're feeling.
Peace
