has this happened to anyone?

I posted this question on another forum before seeing this one....here goes....I weaned myself off paxil after having been on it for 5 years...I wasn't having any more panic attacks, seemed like the thing to do, right?  About 2 months later I started having muscle aches that wouldn't go away.  The doctor ran a blood test and said I might have  Lupus.
Had to wait 4 weeks to see a specialist... did bloodwork...had to wait another 2 weeks to get the results.....no lupus.
I think from all the worry, I know have major panic attacks again.  This time I've got new symptoms....my skin feels like it's burning on the inside and outside.....my ears are ringing constantly.....when I try to fall asleep, my feet and hands jerk....it's so weird.... Has anyone ever had this happen to them?  By the way, I'm back on 10 milligrams of Paxil....thinking of bumping it up to 20 milligrams.

Thanks for the responses.  I called my doctor yesterday.  He agreed to increase the paxil to 20 milligrams.  Also he said I might have severe fibromyalgia.  He wants me to come back in 2 weeks for MORE blood work.   I'm hoping and praying that the Paxil will kick in sufficiently to quiet down all these other symptoms.  I find that if I start feeling weird, I just slow down and do deep breathing and it seems to help.  Also i tell myself that I'm not crazy...ha!...and that the medicine is just working thru my system.

I also thought about the fact that I just turned 50.  I had a partial hysterecomy 8 years ago and have never been on any hormone replacement therapy.  So maybe it's also menopause.

Namaste,

What you describe are not normal side effects of Paxil, although each person reacts differently to different medications, so it is possible that you're having minor side effects after being off Paxil for so long, but I;m sure they'll pass.

I hope you discountinuing or changing your dosages under the supervision of your doctor. It can be dangerous to do otherwise.
