so afraid that its cancer, please help..

someone help please...

I am going crazy with fear since about an hour ago. I started feeling my groin area for lumps and noticed a very large amount of hard, fixed lumps in my groin area, under the skin. they do not seem to be mobile at all and they feel hard. they are both left and right, they are fairly tiny but differ in size, some a bit bigger then the other.

if anyone could reply with some news that would calm me down, please do so fast, I can barely stop myself from bursting into tears...

please help..

I tried to remain calm but I just cant anymore now I felt these lumps and I am really going insane....

Apologies for this behavious, but this is me when fear really gets his grip...

Jurplesman,

I made the Hypo_Test that you linked and resulted in an 71 point, Giving me a 55% chance, I also woke up this morning with slime in the throat, itchy upper-throat & ear and while breathing I was Wheezing.
I guess I'll have a talk with my doctor after the weekend, Thank you.

Maybe you could get a CT Scan. This will show if any lymph nodes are truly enlarged and their actual size. Lymph nodes can range in size and still be normal. I would ask for a CT Scan and this will help to ease your anxiety concerning lymph nodes.

Best of Wishes and I hope you begin feeling relief from your anxiety. I know how you feel.

Stress can cause many things. The lump grew because you kept touching it IMO. Doctor and dentist told you its nothing but I know you need better assurance.

See your doc, ask for those lumps to be checked out. And go see a shrink.

Thank you, I will be checking out the sites for sure.

And yes I do have Hypochondria according to the doctor, he did blood tests and looked at most parts of my body and said all looked fine...But the lumps...They drive me crazy.

I notice them everywhere, and for each of them I have to visit the doctor to calm down again, and even then im only calmed down temporary untill I get scared again, Of either something new or the same thing..

Can lumps spontaniously start to grow in the groin area (The lymph nodes all felt hard & matted, doctor felt it said it was fine). And now this swelling in my mouth....Because of stress?

*Sigh* I'm losing it...

The lump seems to grow, and fairly rapidly to. in 1.5 day it went from the size of a rice to the size of a pea. its still loose and a bit mobile. feels a bit hard or rubbery...

I went to the dentist earlier today, who did not seem to worry that much and assumed it was a Saliva Gland or something...But it continued to grow since then, its noticeable bigger and I am once again very afraid.

I never thought fears could get a hold on people like this, Now I found a painfull lump on the back of my head, in my hair..and ofcourse, the only thing I can think about is skin cancer..

*Sigh*

Ah well..Next monday I will get my second Therapy conversation, I hope it is better then the last one. because that onedid not exactly impress nor reassure me that it would help :P

I knew you would find something else. When this fear goes away EVENTUALLY, I think I know exactly what your new fear will be especially if you keep looking online. Hyperchondria is tough man.

Trust your doctor. See a shrink.

If you cannot take the worry then go again to the doctor and demand a biopsy. That may be the only way to eliminate the fear.

And the sooner you do it, the sooner the fear will be gone. I am just telling you this to help you avoid full blown anxiety which I didn't manage to avoid unfortunately.

Heya all...Unfortionatly I only remained calm for a short amount of time this time...

For some reason I noticed a loose lump that I can move around in my mouth, and the gummy area just below the front-lower teeth, on the inside of my mouth...

Probably a cyst or something but unfortionatly a new worry xP

Afternoon everyone, I just got home from the doctors office and he managed to calm me down once again..

Apperantly the lymph nodes in my groin area did not feel weird to him, although they share all characteristic's of cancer if you ask me. They feel hard and are immoveable. But yeah, the doctor said he had 3 sons who all 3 have the same lumps there as me, So I guess I'll thrust the guy ^^

Thanks everyone for calming me down untill I finally managed to get to the doctor ^^

I will most definetly keep this place updated, thank you.

Its good to be reminded that the lumps can have something to do with allergies and infections..

Since this time of year I get alot of trouble with hayfever, I also recently had an herpes outbreak on my lips (Forgot the name, but i've had it for 10+ years and it pops up fairly often)
I also have a strange "Habit" of plucking hairs from my armpits & groin area, I just hope this has something to do with it. I wont search online anymore and try to get some sleep untill the appointment, thank you again.

Ask your doctor for some anxiety pills and to send you to a psychiatrist. If your doctor says more testing needed thats even better. Then you will do some tests and they will be negative and you will stop thinking about it.

But since you learned so much about "lumps" then you know that allergies, infections etc, can cause lumps.

Some "lumps" get bigger because you touch them.

But I know that your mind is on cancer only. I have been there, I know how you feel. IMO, Those lumps have nothing to do with cancer.

Keep us posted and dont search online anymore, thats ok if you learned a lot already. You will be just fine.

Thank you Bosnian, I have been trying to stop searching online, but the urge to do so is very hard to neglect..also I already know alot about it, unfortionatly...I feel asif I've learned a whole medical book out of the back of my head by now, with the only things left to learn beeing the hard words >.<
I hope my doctor will say its fine today, Because if I get the diagnose "More testing needed" I will probably really break down...

I'm literally terrified that I wont be living to see my next birthday.

And yes, I did visit the doctor 7x in 2 months at the first appointment he checked out my groin area and said he did not find anything unusual, now I noticed this huge concentration of lumps, so it only strikes the fear in deeper, thinking that it all grown to that size in 2 month's.

Ugh...My anxiety seemed to calm down over the past weeks, but now it feels like its even worse then when it just started...

Luckely this great forum is helping me get through with good advice <3 Now I just need to learn to accept it ^^

I know how you feel. In another thread you posted that you visited your doctor 7X in 2 months. Well I used to see doctors more often than you. Sometimes 2X a day (different doctors) just to get reassurance.

If your doctor tell you those lumps are nothing, then trust him. If he says to do more testing then fine.

But one thing I strongly suggest to you is to stop searching for symptoms and causes online. Not only that you will never diagnose yourself online, but most likely, after your fear of "lump related cancer" is over, you will find something else to worry about.

Thanks Kristine.

I did a blood test that showed no abnormality's at all, but dueue to what I read I am unable to thrust blood tests now :( I'm beliving im going a bit crazy, sinec it seems that everever I feel I feel small underskin bumps. some that can barely be felt at all, but still its a bump and it drives me crazy. The main ones that frighting me are still in the groin though...But about cysts, arent they on the skin and visible from the outside? mine are located pretty deep im afraid, so I doubt they're cysts ^^ Thank you anyway <3

Kind Regards,

kraggy

The thought of cancer is always very scary, I will tell you though that the groin area is very prone to cysts, and if you have many of them, than I would be willing to bet that is what it is. A simple blood test will tell your Dr. whether or not cancer is present in your system. Talk with your Dr. about it.

Best of luck to you!

Thank you Geesja, and no I do not have any pills for panic, up to now they have been pretty mild, but when I felt those bumps under my skin, I just went crazy..I have calmed down a bit since, but the still is still very much alive and I can not really perform any hobby or anything without worrying.. The main problems is how to nodes feel, hard & stuck to the layer they lay on...Uff, I guess all I can do is wait and try to remain calm.

Thank you again, You to, Bosnianworrier.

Hi, Kraggy! Do you have any pill for panic? Just use it (only one) untill your appointment tomorrow.  Think about this: 90% of our thoughs when in panic are not real.  Yes, you have some nodes , but there are many possible things causing them, know what? maybe a side effect from a medication. I have seem several cases. Be calm down untill tomorrow. God may bless you!

I would love to stop worrying, Bosnian. But I am afraid that is rather hard for me..
I made stupid mistake of searching the net about how Lymph Nodes feel in what state and cancer is just the perfect match..And I also have Health Anxiety, now I can usually clam down, but not untill I visited a doctor...which I have to wait till tomorrow for :(

Out of so many possible causes you think it's cancer. Try to think rationally.

It could be nothing. Could be something mild. I know many people who had similar things and only one of them had cancer, and he got cured.

Go see your doctor and stop worrying.

PS. I myself have a lump I found on my arm, went to my doctor, he told me to watch if it is growing. It doesnt seem to be.
