Who can I talk to about my friend who has tried to get help from her parents, but they refuse to consider that she is anything more than a normal teenage girl? Her mother believes that depression is something you can just snap out of and refuses to consider any other problems her daughter has. Her dad has been diagnosed with bipolar depression, and is being treated. My friend has many mental issues. Though they have not been diagnosed she seems as if she has bipolar disorder, depression, multiple personalities, OCD, and is suicidal. I show signs of all of these as well, though I am being treated. My friend's parents are angry with my mom for trying to help their daughter. I know I should be worrying about myself more, but I can't do anything for myself until my friend is recieving some sort of help, too.

I've tried. They tell me I should worry about myself. And since my friend keeps all these things secretive, no one believes anything is really wrong with her, because she doesn't act like it. But she's suffering. Thank you, though.

see about getting your friend to a school counselor so they can let her parents know how serious this is. sometimes another adult can impress upon the parents of the seriousness of suicide and the need for help and therapy. you are a good friend. Let me know what happens ok? I am keeping you and your friend in my prayers.
