oh no!  this another ball-game.  Pregnancy plays around with hormones and then your moods will be all over the place!  please ignore all that I've said above.

You need to work very close with your Gynae or your Doctor and do all the natural-feel-good-aids.

Hi there,

I was diagnosed with having Bipolar Disorder, about a month ago, so I am not very experienced and still learning, but I was at my Doctor's office yesterday with exactly the same problem you are experiencing now.

About a month ago I had an episode of hyper-mania - lots of energy and could not and did not want to sleep for almost 4 days and felt like I wanna safe the world and I had not appetite and my voice was load and I would talk a lot and very fast!

Now, a month later on mood-stabilizer (1200mg Valpro) and 25-75mg Serequal (Sedative) I feel as if I am more on the depressed side and very sleepy during the day.  The scale runs from 0 - 10.  The Doctor's wants us to be on 4 - 6.  I was on 8 and now I am on 2-3.

Sedatives are there to control the hyper-mania's.  According to my Doc I have to adjust the sedative and if I feel I am depro and on the 2-3 scale:  avoid stressful situations and people, do pleasurable things and even exercise to increase serotonin and don't take Sedatives.  It is even advisable then to add anti-depressants to pick your mood up.

As I said, I am still learning :)

So during the time that you almost feel "nothing" that is when you are going towards depro and now is a good time to do pleasurable things and watch what you eat as your diet also plays a big role in moods as your insulin drops, etc. and if you have a sedative then cut down on it.

Hope the info helps you.
