Should I change meds again?

I have been on  Zeldox for the past 4 months along with Celexa.  Before that cocktail i was on 300mg of seroquel, and working my way off of effexor. My reason for switching to Zeldox was because of the low instance of weight gain, and getting off effexor was a must as it made my mania worse. My problem is this. Constant anxiety waking up anxious, having the most minimal tasks like taking a shower cause anxiety. Always there is some kind of anxiety. I was prescribed 1mg of clonezapam to take nightly in the attempt to combat the anxiety. So far no luck and honestly not feeling all that good either. Still getting depressed, serious rumination, hateful self worth. Not good. I know i need to switch, and i think maybe going back to the seroquel may be it. I remember being more stable just hated the weight gain. Ideas? options? new meds?

I've noticed  3 days taking just 40 mg. per day of Ziprasidone (Zeldox) that my vision is very blurry (my eyes are bad at the best of times - wear special contacts & glasses) so this is very bothersome. It's listed on another site as a Common side effect, not an uncommon one....but I can't seem to see if it eventually goes away??  Would appreciate any comments ASAP before I see my doctor soon.  Thanks

I had a noticeable increase in my anxiety and agitation while taking Zeldox/ Geodon, which was just made worse by the profoundly sedating effects. I would be exhausted but buzzing with anxiety, uncomfortable to do anything or be anywhere. Luckily, I was only given Zeldox to manage some rapid cycling that had popped up, and I was able to stop taking it once the cycling was under control. Unfortunately, you might just have to request a med change it this is indeed the culprit. Maybe explain your side effects/ symptoms to your doctor and request a drug that is second best when it comes to avoiding weight gain, or even an alternative if you're using the AP as a mood stabilizer? I'm sorry to hear you've been dealing with so much unnecessary anxiety, I've been there. Good luck!

I didn't gain weight on Geodon whatsoever but I have on Abilify but Abilify is supposed to be the one that causes the least amount of weight gain according to everyone I talked to about it including my psychiatrist.  This isn't the case for me but I guess medicines work differently for everyone..

The other atypical antipsychotics (also used as mood stabilizers) that have less of a potential of weight gain are Abilify, Fanapt and Saphris. You could ask your psychiatrist about those options. I had similar reactions to Zeldox but each person responds differently to each medication.
