I tend to get hypomanic in the spring and summer as well. I guess the increase in daylight contributes to it. I enjoy it while it lasts :) It helps me get things done!
I know what you mean about benefitting from the energy!! problem for me is it doesn't last long before I start to get very agitated and irritable!

i am the same way as you, so my summer is out of wack especially with the hot summer months plus accompanied by severe migraines and hostile moods
My psych. has told be that seasons seem to play a part with bipolar phases. I know that I'm am currently fighting a manic phase. Two years ago I went through a manic phase that nearly destroyed me. So to answer your question I'm sure season's play a part with the bipolar disorder.
