Mild diffuse Cerebral Atrophy
About This Community:

WELCOME TO ANEURYSM THE COMMUNITY: This Patient-To-Patient Community is for discussions relating to Brain Aneurysms which is a weak or thin spot on a blood vessel in the brain that balloons out and fills with blood. The bulging aneurysm can put pressure on a nerve or surrounding brain tissue. It may also leak or rupture, spilling blood into the surrounding tissue (called a hemorrhage). Some cerebral aneurysms, particularly those that are very small, do not bleed or cause other problems. Cerebral aneurysms can occur anywhere in the brain, but most are located along a loop of arteries that run between the underside of the brain and the base of the skull.

Hi there. Cerebral atrophy denotes a decrease in brain size or shrinkage of the brain. The decrease in brain size normally occurs as people grow older, but it can also be due to several conditions such as ischemic infarcts, malnutrition, Pick's disease, chronic HIV infection, Alzheimer's disease and Huntington's disease, among many others. Atrophy of the brain is also associated with loss in the number of nerve cells and their connections, and it can affect the whole brain or just some regions or portions of it.
Treatment has to be symptomatic to delay the progression of the disease and the damage of the neurons. Nutrition plays an important role in delaying the progression. Please give him good natural supplements of calcium, multivitamins, minerals and Omega 3 fatty acids.  Brain exercises like crossword puzzles solving, reading, socialising and other similar activities may also help a lot in delaying the brain atrophy.
Regards and take care
