is it normal to be able to feel the bones in your neck?

Abit off topic for chiari but alot of you are more educated on the head and neck area so I thought I would ask.
I dont mean the big "bump" at the bottom of neck/ top of back.

I mean the back of the neck itself. Is it normal to be able to feel the vertibrae in the neck if you press abit? I know on slim people you can see and feel the spine sometimes.
I was rubbing my neck one day cause stiff and felt a big lump. I started freaking out that it was my herniation lol! Felt abit more and can feel a smaller one lower down in neck so thought maybe its the bones?

  Then it may not be that....it may be tight muscles...???

No never been told I have disk issues. Only had scan til base of neck tho and none there I guess. Or id have been told.

  Aww don't be so hard on urself....I think with Chiari a lot of us have more weight we r carrying around then we had yrs ago.....along with a thyroid issue....which does not help in the weight dept, and then we can not do much without pain....

Have u ever been told if u have ne bulging disks?

   Hi I am sure it is possible to feel the individual bones/disks  especially if u r on the thinner side or if u have a few disks that may be bulging......I also would think the position of ur head/neck may also play a role in how much u r able to discern in that area.

I know I have a few that are bulging but they are further down my spine....
