frustrated

I am so frustrated and I am not exactly sure what to do.
See, Aug 25/26 i went out of town to see a specialist, he told me i needed to have
surgery and it could be scheduled by the end of september ok no problem.
The "scheduler" called and asked me about surgery and I said yes, when ever is open
she then said well it has to be a monday and the 28th is a holiday (me-confused) and said she would have to check his schedule(me- again confused) then told me i would need surgical clearance (me- laughed to self thinking clearance I am not a plane--LOL just the way she worded it made me think of a plane) and that she would get back to me that was on 9/4
to date i have not heard anything, I have no number to call the "scheduler" and have been in contact with the doctors secertary who does not get back to me either....

..in the mean time iam left waiting and wondering
...and coping...

I was confused about the holiday because I wasnt aware of one on Sept 28th. I did figure out what the holiday was its Yom Kippur, And even more confused that the "scheduler" had to check his schedule Isnt that her job? shouldnt she have known his schedule before she even called me?

I am just frustrated! If they dont wanna do it i wish they would tell me GEESH & Quit making me wait!

Congrats on getting a surgery date.  Sorry it's been confusing to try to get worked out.  I would probably freak out if I got a date that was overly soon too, with kids, it's hard to make arrangements and prepare yourself mentally to be out of commission so fast.

I've been waiting for 3 months now for the Mayo Clinic to give me an appointment to see me in the neuro clinic, so I know what frustrated feels like, I've definitely been treated poorly by doctor after doctor, system after system on this journey.  I wish you well in your recovery, I'll say a prayer for peace of mind for you, I'm sure it is very unsettling to have to prepare to have such a major surgery so quickly.

I wish I was that close to the surgery..
my appts with all of my drs keep getting "bumped" (same problem with "schedulers") I can't tell you how many times in the past few months I've been double booked or booked when my doctor is meant to be out of town... lovely.
it really make an office look unprofessional when they do that.. I don't understand.
I still would like to get a spine mri and a CINE but I haven't been to any of my drs since like july. (they were supposed to be seeing me 2 weeks later grrr!)

Hi frustrated, I am in the exact same scenario you laid out!!! I am so sorry, it;s hard on your family and it's hard on you in more than 1 way, I had to get the state insurance advocate involved, in order to just get him to call me but when he did he was pissed at why I had to call the advocate!duh! And even now I am back to waiting for him to give me what we already thought was the go ahead on the surgery.I have been given two dates for the surgery none so far have paid off in the slightest, apparently all I have done is **** them off. I may be looking once again for another surgeon.. I don't have the energy for all this!!!! I hope things go better for you, just wanted to let you know you are not alone.

I also had issues with one person at my NS office and it was the surgery scheduler......not sure y this position is so difficult for these people....if they would communicate in a timely manor things would be so much easier.

I am sure u will get this all straightened out......so in the meantime, make arrangements for a tentive date so u have an idea who will be available to help ur DH with the arrangements that need to be made.

Good Luck with the new date : )

hello!  as frustrating as the scheduling can be, at least you know help is on the horizon!  i'm still going thru the frustration of finding a dr. that actually understands and is familiar with cm!  so chin up!  you are closer to relief than many of us!  and on monday, maybe you will have a secure surgery date!  don't let some stupid secretary ruin your weekend...instead, do something fun with your kids/husband!

I'll be thinking of you and pray you will get a date soon...

yesterday in the mail i get a letter telling me my surgery is scheduled for the 21st WHAT?!?!?!....9 days including wkends to get to the doctor have them get all results and fwd'd them onto the hospital (out of town) not to mention husbands employer, and making final arrangements for my son to be cared for.

last time i heard from the scheduler, was the 4th, and then i get this?????????

so i fire off an email to my doctors secertary, and she had an auto response returened saying she was out of office for a month( i was thinking OH NO now what) and had a fwd'ing email so i fired off an email to her, About 30 minutes from when i sent the email- I get a phone call from the secertary (on her own time while she is recouperating from foot surgery) who gave me the schedulers phone number so i can call on monday and rearrage the surgery date, She said that she has been getting some weird reports on the surgery scheduler- and is going to send my email onto my doctor. She too agrees 9 days is NOT enough notice, and reassured me it will be rescheduled no problem.   Now dont get me wrong i want this surgery but i need a little more notice then 9 days!!

so hopefully tomorrow  i have answers and a new date.

I would be frustrated as well!  It's so irritating that they have no thought or concern about keeping us in the dark waiting!
Best of luck for you!
