Should I STOP cervical traction?

Okay,

So I ran across a list of things folks with CM should NOT do and on that list was
" should avoid cervical traction"
Why is that? Should I stop using mine? What does it/can it do? I think it may help with my symptoms. Not a 100% sure but It helps while I'm in traction and then about 10-15 mins afterwards its back to the same ole business as usual..

I just don't know what to do, and it's not like I can call and ask my docs around here, they won't even recognize that I have CM in the first place.. UGH, good thing Dr. Heffez does! I am scheduled to go see him on Sept 13-14.. Should I call Kim at his office?

No worries...this is the problem when we go to several diff Drs and they do not know about the other condition.
I went to PT for  my one drop attack (b4 my dx) and they had me using elastic type straps...after I found I had EDS I found I should not have that type of exercise as it is not good for my joints...plus the results they were getting were not true/accurate.My issue with them is I feel a PT should have been able to recognize my condition.(hyper-mobile joints)

I am doings this for a protruding disc in my neck which is why my GP thought was causing my headaches and tingling ect.

So, I will hold off till I see Dr H and see what he says!

Hi...are u doing this with a Drs consent?...I would stop for now...cervical traction is used to dx cranial instability and chiari...but not to treat it as far as I know.

My thoughts are what if when u release the traction u pinch something and u feel worse?

  JMHO

I would not use this and wait till u r seen by a true chiari specialist.
