Dr. Oro visit Oct 24-26

Can anyone tell me what type of testing Dr. Oro does while in Aurora? I've read that some people are sent home for further testing. Chuck told me I would have all of my answers  on the last day of the visit..Can anyone tell me what to realistically expect?
Thanks,
Michele

Flex X-rays are new to me. I strongly think I have EDS-hypermobility. I scored 7 of 9 on the screen for it, I also had some weird tooth crumbling episodes around ages12-14. I feel so comforted knowing you have been there..done that. I'm quite anxious.

I stayed at the best western and got the $69 medical rate my last 2 visits.  The rooms were nice enough and it had hot breakfast.  Our last stay was 10 days and the staff was very helpful with my chiari requests like i need many more pillows lol.  The first time I stay a the Holiday Inn and he carpet was so busy with my dizziness it made me sick.  The red lion is close too but I did not go in that one.

Selma is right on....he suggested nerve blocks for me first to rule out that my pain wasn't from my nerve damage before he considered my surgery. Good luck to u both ;)

Mowgrin, I will be there on the 19th...what day will u be there?

Congratulations on getting in with Dr O !!

It all depends, sometimes they will want u to try meds to see if some of the symptoms r from CSF pressure, and they may want u to try PT.....a good Dr tries several things b4 he suggests surgery,.....unless he can see there is no other option.

I have been run around by NS and other doctors as well.  I finally sent my MRI to Dr. Oro and Chuck called today to say Dr. Oro will see me too!  I am so relieved and have my first appt next week.  I have read that most people like him so crossing my fingers as you must be as well.  I was told he would recommend the right treatment but have never been too clear as to what other treatment options are at this point.  Either way, I think we will both be in good hands:-). Good luck to you!

Thanks so much..I feel like I'm going to the right place. After being brushed aside by a NL and a NS..I feel like at least I will get a fair assessment from Dr. Oro..Where did you stay? I'm thinking about Red Lion? any thoughts?

He is wonderful and my NS too:) He did my surgery 2/9 this year.  Feel free to read my journals.  In addition yo hat Dana said he sent me to neurological optomologist and there were surveys to take in office too for me.  I also had flex X-rays because of EDS and came home with more referrals prior to surgery recommendation due to other findings.  We also tried diamox due to psedo tumor.  He is great! You are in good hands.

Dr oro is my ns. I saw him april 2nd for initial visit. Was sent for xrays, 3d ct scan and cine flow mri on the 3rd and saw dr oro for results on the 4th. It is worth it....he is wonderful. I had my 2nd pfd with him aug 20th. He didn't do my first surgery...a reg ns did and it made me worse. So I sought out dr oro. I se him oct 19th for my 2 month post op. I'm anxious to see if the results are good?! Some people weren't satisfied with dr oro, but that's only because he tells you hoe it is, and some people were not satisfied if he did not reccimend surgery. For we are not all surgical candidates. Its a great place. Keep us updated, Dana ;)
