hi jess!
i have chronic jaw pain...one dr said i have tmj, another said i clench my teeth, yet another said i grind my teeth. i was told to wear a guard at night. i did for a few months and saw no difference. it's the back of my jaws that hurt, just below the ears, causing them to hurt too. tinnitus is another constant companion and ear pressure seems to change like the wind some days. personally, i think it is all damage done from a lifetime of too many brains in too small a space. but that's just my humble opinion and what do i know. i'm not a dr....i'm only a patient. lol
Yup, I get ear and jaw pain too. My jaw feels tight, my ears feel full, kinda like I'm 20 ft underwater. I get stabbing pains along my jawline and behind my ears. My mom is a dental hygienist. Her theory is that compression or inflammation is putting pressure on the 4th trigeminal nerve. I think it was 4th. Those stabbing, sharp, shooting pains are nerve pain. Pain meds won't touch them. Neurontin could help.
Hi....yes many of us have reported jaw pain as well as eye pains...ear fullness too. With the ears I also get ringing , buzzing, and even what feels like an ice pick jabbing pain.....
I also asked my dentist to rule out TMJD....as many times we r told that is what the pain is from...mine was not.
