Eating ?

Lately my daughter who has never been overweight wants to eat nonstop. Yesterday she had 4 sandwiches for lunch. She is 7. Is this something that the Chiari can cause?

Obviously the consensus here is - see the doc!
4 sandwiches sounds like a bit much for lunch :) Was she eating them fast?
From my experience with having CM...
I have constant level of anxiety/stress which basically means my body is on "red alert" mode (fight or flight response) and this can take a lot of energy to keep up with. We get energy from food, so there's that. I have a lot of tense muscles, twitches, spasms (awake and sleeping) and this can burn up a lot of energy too. And finally, with CM it's very important to understand that the body's chemistry is not functioning normally, so your body adapts the best it can to function as normally as it can. This has an effect on every system of the body which is why there are so many symptoms associated with CM and why it is such a hard disorder to manage. I have been taking a stimulant medication (adderall) for many years now and that has helped me on many levels, one of them being my insatiable hunger. For now, just get the blood checked out<3

Deff check her for Hashimoto's thyroiditis, as u can have this and be hypo and it swings to hyper....so eating habits can change......

Many with chiari have this, as it is an autoimmune disorder, they have to check her free T3 and freeT4,  TPO antibodies as well as TSH...and a ultra sound of her thyroid can help as u can have "normal" readings bcuz of the way this changes...a US will show if there r ne nodules or goiters....

Do they have her on steroids? Because when my dr put me on them for a month straight, I really had to be careful because all I wanted to do was eat! I gained 8 lbs in that month and I was trying to watch what I ate. As a child it would be harder to watch what you eat, all you know is that you are hungry and want food now! lol  If she is not on steroids, then i have no idea what would cause this unless it is just a growth spurt. I know my 10 yr old is going thru one now and eats all the time but not that much at once. I would agree to get some blood work done. Good luck!

I don't know if it can be related, but I have days like that to!

Have you get her checked for hypoglicemia or anemia.

I found out that my days like that in my case can also be triger by stomac ache feeling. It feels like I'm never full and always hungry! Strange enouf acid control medication like tums help on this day! But don't give any to your daughter befor talking about this with your care provider.
