Tethered Cord and Stenosis?

I wondered if anyone knows if Foraminal Stenosis and Central Canal Stenosis has anything to do or is related to Tethered Cord? I just wondered because actually on an old MRI from a few years ago it shows I have both (states mild) Foraminal and Central Canal Stenosis. (along with some degenerative disk changes).

Thanks ahead of time.

Oh yeah....as far as this and TC being related...I am not sure there is a relationship except for chiari....but I do have TC...but not FS.

Foraminal Stenosis
Foraminal stenosis is a narrowing of the spinal foramen, the hole through which passes a spinal nerve as it exits the spine

Spinal stenosis is a medical condition in which the spinal canal narrows and compresses the spinal cord and nerves. This is usually due to the common occurrence of spinal degeneration that occurs with aging. It can also sometimes be caused by spinal disc herniation, osteoporosis or a tumor. In the cervical (neck) and lumbar (low back) region it can be a congenital condition to varying degrees.

Hi...yes those with chiari are prone to spine issues....I do have cervical spinal stinosis in the same area of a bulging disk...which is making the situation worse. It can block CSF just like our cerebral tonsils could....causing many of the same issues and symptoms.
Since I had my PFD my disk slipped further out, causing my drs to say no driving...no this no that....sigh....until I have it surgically removed and the disk above and below fused.....

I hope the above definitions help with what each condition r.....FS- is where the nerve branches off the spinal cord to go to the particular area...like an arm and fingers...the dura which protects the spine has openings which allow the nerves to go to the area....with FS the opening is not as wide as it should be...which can put pressure on the nerve.
CSS- is a narrowing of the cord  itself....and can also be from the bulging disks...I have both a narrowing of the cord, plus a bulging disk, this puts pressure on all the nerves that pass thru there.

I hope this helps

i've googled until i'm giddy but either i'm just not understanding what i'm ready or it's just not there.  i can see how it COULD be related, however i do not know that it is.  my very uneducated guess would be no... they are not related unless as a very distant cousin.  am curious now to see if someone comes up with something concrete!
