Waiting for Dr to call - ugh!

I had my fuill spine MRI last night.  I have a copy of everything but don't know exactly what to look for.  As a lay-person what I think I see is no syrinx (yay!) but possibly a tethered cord, though I can't really be sure.  The dr. promised that if I had it done at the hospital he would call me before my appointment with the results so I left a voice mail and then spoke to his secretary who promised to give him the message.  I hate waiting!

In the meantime one thing I see that's weird is on one of my lower vertebrae there is a white spot in the middle of the bone. Can't help wonder about that too...ugh sometimes I wish I were less curious and more patient!

I can feel my dimple....and have some scoliosis as well.

Most TC is not seen on a MRI...but it is possible to see a cyst where the tether is....

And looking at the brain stem is another clue....

Waiting is the worst but it is the only way to get the info....

It looks like the cord may be tethered on the lumbar pictures but again being no expert I am not sure what exactly to look for. Not sure about the dimple or hiry patch, I'll have to get my partner to take a look. I wonder too about my history of scoliosis. Frankly I was expecting to see an obvious syrinx but in comparing my scan to those I can find on google there doesn't seem to be one.

what gives u the indication of tethered cord?.....do u have the cervical spine MRI as well?....the brain stem is generally longer in those with TC then those  that do not have it...so that is a good indication.

DO u have a sacral dimple, a hairy patch on the lower part of ur back/.spine?

I hate that too.  I now know that if I call the morning after and tell them I will be picking I up they will have the report or me.  My MRI place also has a neurologist read my MRI now because of the chiari so he ives a lot more info.  If it is close to home it might be worth a call.  I hope your dr calls soon.

No, the report wasn't ready and it wasn't in the system when I spoke to the secretary. So here I sit...staring at my phone...

Did you get the radiology report too?  That tells what they found.
