Thank-you! He had been having headache's, They were gone about a wk. Today we had a scare, he didn't to school because he was feeling dizzy & sleepy,mom took him to ped. dr. in afternoon, he had balance test walking 1 foot in front of other was bad, his left arm was weaker, they had him slap his palm could hit one good but not the other. so they took in in for MRI at 6:30, did his spine & head said spine looked good, plan more test tomorrow. I amm so sorry ur grandson has to deal with this...and yes a trauma to the head, neck or back can trigger the symptoms.
Do u know if ur GS has a CSF blockage,syrinx or tethered cord? these are related conditions that should be ruled out prior to doing a surgery.
I am sorry I do not know where r u saying ur GS is going to per ur U of M??
Even tho ur GS's herniation (I assume that is what u mean by thread? ) is 22mm it may not be causing a CSF blockage.What symptoms is he experiencing?
We do have a chiari specialist thread here and I suggest u look at the drs listed and research them...the list was compiled by members that were happy with their chiari drs.
