Spine Pain

I have not had a lot of symptoms with my chiari but the last week has been hell. My headaches are always slow onset and usually I can get a handle on them but this one is over a week now. Monday it got so bad it started going down my spine where I felt like I could feel every bone in my spine just hurting. I ended up in the ER because my doc was concerned about fluid blockage. Multiple doses of strong pain meds did very little and I am still in a lot of pain. Has anyone ever had pain go down the spine like this?

Hi... My headache (I say this because it is always there, it's only a matter of how bad), often radiates up the sides of my head to the top and is accompanied by scalp pain, neck, shoulder and pain in my spine! Sometimes, and quite often it feels like you are a hundred years old and dying! No one should have to be scared and suffer like this right? Lisa

Yes, I used to get this same type of pain, I found out it was related to my bowel and bladder issues I have in relation to my Chiari .

For yrs I did not get the sensation to empty my bladder, but I would get the pain u described.....I found out that if I went  and emptied the pain subsided...and this was yrs b4 I got my Chiari DX....so I had no idea what was going on at the time.

I am not suggesting ur issue is bowel or bladder related but so many with Chiari and related conditions do have issues with the bowel or bladder or both...so something to look into.

I have been experiencing the same thing over the past 2 days. Today the headache and shoulder/spine hurt so bad , I called my Neurosurgeon and begged him to help me. He told me that he doesn't know what to do since those symptoms have nothing to do with my Chiari. Very frustrating.

Along with my headache and spine pain today, I had a fever of 102. I am at a loss of how to get my doctor to listen and help address this issue.
