incision site...

This surgery my dura was opened and they used my own tissue. So rylansmom it looks like yours. The top smaller incision is the sore spot. I can feel it pull and move when I move. Is this normal? It looks good and clean, just feels funny with movement. I did not have this done in surgery #1, so I don't know how its suppposed to feel. Lol. The whole thing feels this way really just notice the top the most. It just woke me out of sleep, it felt like I was caught on pillow lol but wasn't even close lol. It must be part of healing?! Like when you have a scrape on elbow and keep bending it.

Thank you both for your info, I needed to hear it.

Rylansmom- dr oro is the best :)

TracyGR- I had my first surgery with a reg ns and he only did bony decompression. I felt ok for only 2 weeks post op. Then for a year was worse off than before my surgery. So I sought out specialist and he revised my surgery. I needed more work done.

Dana that spot was more sensitive for me for a long ime and it took a long time for the air to grow there.  It must have something to do with harvesting the graph.  I don't really push on my head (as we all know we have head issues) but if I do that area is more tender.  Some Drs that harvest do 1 longer incision where Dr Oro chooses to do 2 and just cut where he needs to be instead of opening between the 2.  I think you are noticing it more because the pressure of your head is hitting that spot:)

Hi guys. I just had my 2 sons diagnosed with Chiari and they're checking my daughter. Would you mind telling me why they went back and re-did your surgeries?

I had not seen that pic!  Very cool!  They harvest my tissue in my third surgery and I still only have one scar.. it went a little higher but he somehow goes up under where he makes the cut so that it is not much larger.  Mine is not that high!!! OUCH!  I will tell you that my head felt much different the time that they harvested my tissue from up there than it did in the other two surgeries.  It did feel weirder and it has not felt normal yet and I am over a year post op from the third surgery!  I have my doubts it will ever feel normal, it is not bad, just weird.  I hope it feels better for you soon but I too thought it felt very strange for quite a while!  -Zygy
